Meet Me In Tent City

Charles Barkley, who was arrested on a DUI, will be doing his ten day jail stint in the same tent Arizona city jail as DMX.

Raising Hell

DMX has gotten into more trouble at the Arizona tent city jail where he's serving 90 days after pleading guilty to felony theft, drug possession and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges. If you recall, X was put on a bread and water diet after he refused to work or take his meds. Well, apparently the punishment proved to be too much for your boy because he stole a tray of regular food but threw it at prison guards after they caught him with it. Though no guards were hurt during the outburst, DMX was re-booked on an additional charge of aggravated assault.

No Break For Weezy

The handgun found on rapper Lil Wayne's tour bus after a 2007 concert will be allowed as evidence in his upcoming trial for criminal gun possession. The rapper, real name Dwayne Carter, was arrested in July 2007 after a concert at New York's Beacon Theatre when a police officer said she boarded the bus because she smelled marijuana, and then saw the star attempt to hide a gun. Wayne pleaded not guilty and was freed on $70,000 bail, with his lawyers arguing the officer falsely claimed to smell the drug so she could board the bus. New York State Supreme Court Judge Charles Solomon on Tuesday (24Feb09) ordered jury selection to begin immediately following the rapper's U.S. tour, which completes on 12 April (09). Weezy F, 26, will face one count of criminal weapons possession and one charge of criminal possession of a loaded weapon when his trial begins on 20 April (09). According to a spokeswoman at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, he will face a maximum prison sentence of 15 years if convicted.

Sir Charles Gets Jail Time

Charles Barkley is going to have to do 5 days in jail, maybe 10, after pleading guilty to drunken-driving charges in Scottsdale, Ariz. If you recall, Sir Charles got arrested after running a stop sign and refusing to take a breathalizer test once he was pulled over. At the time, CB told cops he was in a hurry to get a blow job, claiming the girl he was going to see had given him the best bj he'd ever had and that he was in a hurry to see her. Charles was sentenced to 10 days in jail -- but will only do five if he completes an alcohol education program. Chuck was also fined $2,000. It is not clear if he will serve his time in Arizona's 'Tent City' jail, where rapper DMX is currently cooling his heels.
Charles took a six-week leave of absence from his basketball analyst job with TNT but returned recently after apologizing for the incident. "I think that a DUI is unacceptable," he stated. "That can't happen and I've got to challenge other people, not just celebrities or jocks. You have to really think before getting behind the wheel after you've been drinking."
Barkley, 45, had a blood-alcohol level of .149 percent, nearly twice the legal limit of .08 percent in Arizona when he was pulled over.

No Bail For Fred

A judge in Chicago has denied bail for an attorney accused of killing New York Knicks’ player Eddy Curry’s ex-girlfriend and her infant daughter.
Fredrick Goings is charged with first-degree murder in the January shooting deaths of 24-year-old Nova Henry and her 10-month-old daughter, Ava.
In court on Monday, prosecutors called the baby Ava Curry Henry and later said they believe she was Curry’s daughter.
Authorities say Goings and Nova Henry were romantically involved and that Goings represented Henry in a paternity case with Curry.
Prosecutors allege Henry tried unsuccessfully to end a romantic relationship with Goings and was disputing a $23,500 legal fee Goings had charged her.
Goings’ attorney, John Lyke, says his client is innocent.
Nova and Eddy's 3-year-old son Noah, who was in his mother's condo at the time of the murders, had identified Goings as the killer.
