Doug E Fresh In Foreclosure
According to the NY Post: Rap icon Doug E. Fresh - best known for his '80s hit "The Show" - has been socked with three foreclosure actions by banks looking to collect more than $3.5 million in unpaid mortgages on a trio of his Harlem homes.
The rapper, 46, also is being chased by American Express for nearly $60,000 in credit-card debt, and the IRS just slapped him with a $367,000 tax lien on top of more than $40,000 owed to the state tax collector, records show.
That's Her Story And She's Sticking To It
T-Boz told Essence Magazine: "I'm not homeless. During my last marriage [to Mack 10], I had a bunch of things that were put in my name. If one of those properties is going into foreclosure then I don't know. Although I've been divorced for five years, there are still a lot of things I'm dealing with on getting straight in that regard. All I know is that the house I live in with my daughter is not [in foreclosure]. When you pull up my name, my real house doesn't show up because it's not in my real name, because I enjoy my privacy and I'm not trying to have people be able to find me that easily."
Not A Good Look Plax
In his first public outing since shooting himself in the leg and being suspended from his team, NY Giant Plaxico Burress and his family attended a Kevin Powell sponsored benefit for the homeless. Guests were supposed to bring a coat to donate, which Plaxico did not. "He's ridiculous," an insider fumed. "He just used the event as a photo opportunity and couldn't have cared less that he didn't bring a coat."
Beyonce Says
"My goal is to become a successful actress in dramas that don't involve singing. I've been comfortable in singing roles, but I don't want to be comfortable. I want non-singing roles that will challenge me. I want to open the door for black female entertainers and show them they can do anything."
OJ's Hall of Fame Ring Turned Over To The Goldmans
A judge has ordered a former friend of O.J. Simpson to turn over the ex-NFL star's Pro Football Hall of Fame ring to help satisfy the $33.5 million civil-court judgment against Simpson in the death of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman.
Superior Court Judge Gerald Rosenberg ordered memorabilia dealer Alfred Beardsley to turn over the ring.
Lawyers Sue Mos Def
Mos' attorneys say he stiffed them after finalizing his divorce from Maria Yepes in 2006, so they're suing his ass for $60,000 in unpaid fees.
