The Roots In A Bus Crash

The Roots' bus tipped over in Belgium, but everybody is ok. Bassist Owen Biddle released a statement saying they are, "all in surprisingly good shape and very thankful to be alive," after the bus lost control with the seven-piece band and five crew members mostly asleep. He goes on to describe the crash recalling, "I was startled awake, bracing against the roof of my bunk when the bus began violently rocking and eventually slammed down on it's left side, on top of a van, which our driver said had veered into us, sending both vehicles, wedged together, off the road and into trees beyond the right margin. Not knowing which way was up at first, I made my way out through the window of the upstairs back lounge, which was facing the ground and had been smashed by rescue workers. The response was immediate. We were taken to a nearby hotel as a sort of staging area. From there, I was one of two who opted to go to the hospital for X-rays, as I was having trouble lifting my right arm. Only minor stuff," he says. But the crash didn't stop the show. The Roots are back on the road headed to Paris to open for Kanye.

Incarcerated rapper Remy Ma filed an appeal against the eight year bid she pulled after being convicted of shooting one of her girl pals in the gut over a missing 3 grand. The basis of her appeal accuses the judge of making several mistakes while instructing the jury on victim Makeda Barnes Joseph's testimony, plus Remy thinks the jury should not have been told about how she and her people jumped on Makeda's boyfriend while threatening him about Makeda's testimony. Yeah, that should go over well.

Kat Williams Gone Crazy

Kat Williams got committed to a psychiatric hospital in South Carolina over the weekend. Your boy was trying to check into a motel wearing a bathrobe, a towel on his head and acting weird, causing hotel employees to call the cops on him, but since there weren't any crimes being committed they left. Later that day Kat appeared on the doorstep of attorney Garryl Deas asking for help. During their brief conversation, Deas said Kat told him he felt the police were "attempting to violate his rights" and he was interested in retaining Deas' services. Kat talked to Deas about his career and said people thought he was missing because he hadn't shown up for a few gigs. Kat also told him there were rumors he had died in a plane crash, which Deas said was obviously not true. Deas told Kat he had to leave the office for a court date and Kat asked if he could wait for him, which he did. When Deas got back Kat was acting even weirder and speaking gibberish. Deas called Kat's fam and they came and had his ass committed to Santee Wateree Mental Health Center.

The LA city attorney hit Don with charges of spousal battery, assault with a deadly weapon and dissuading a witness from making a police report, all misdemeanors. He could face up to one year in prison on each of the charges.

THE COPS WERE VERY CORDIAL BUT TOLD ME THEY HAD TO ARREST ME BECAUSE A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THAT WAS THE BOGUS PART. THEY PLACED ME IN HANDCUFFS AND DROVE ME TO THE STATION. THEY SPOKE ABOUT HOW THIS WAS OBVIOUSLY A PUBLICITY STUNT BY THE PHOTOGRAPHER BUT THEY STILL HAD TO GO THOUGH THE MOTIONS. WHEN I GOT BACK TO THE HOTEL THERE WERE PAPARAZZI HANGING OVER THE BRIDGE ABOVE THE HOTEL TRYING TO GET A SHOT OF ME GETTING OUT THE POLICE VAN. EVEN THOUGH I WASN’T CHARGED, THE DAMAGE WAS DONE. SURE ENOUGH THE NEXT MORNING, PLASTERED ACROSS EVERY MEDIA OUTLET… KANYE GETS ARRESTED. IT DIDN’T MATTER THAT I WASN’T CHARGED OR THE FACT THAT I HADN’T ASSAULTED ANYONE. ALL THAT MATTERED WAS THAT I WAS ARRESTED.
