Snoop Locked Up

Actor Felicia 'Snoop' Pearson got arrested last week after cops picked her up for refusing to testify in a murder trial. One of Snoop's boys stabbed three dudes, one of them fatally, in Snoop's defense after she got into it with the guys at a New York Fried Chicken place in Baltimore. The skirmish started inside and cops were called to calm things down, but the melee flared up again once they got outside because the two groups were parked close to each other. When Snoop failed to appear in court they went to her house with a "body attachment" warrant and when they busted in they found 2 blunts and weed residue.

Add Juvi To The List

Before he has to report to jail in January for lying about laundering hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewels for the Black Mafia Family, Jacob the Jeweler is trying to collect all the money he's owed from fake ballers. In July Jacob filed suit against Wyclef for $319,000.00 in unpaid jewelery and this week he's filed suit against New Orleans rapper Juvenile, Knicks center Eddie Curry and music producer Scott Storch. Good luck with that Jake.

Yung Berg Stomped Out In Detroit

Yung Berg got his ass kicked last night by local Detroit rapper Trick Trick. According to The Whole Nine blog, Yung Berg went to Detroit Friday for a Saturday night performance at 102.7's annual Summer Jamz concert. They say Berg and his boys went out Friday night and crossed paths with Trick Trick, the same Trick Trick who beat Miami rapper Trick Daddy's ass in Detroit few years ago. Now, I don't know the reasons why, but they say Trick Trick and 'nem stomped Yung Berg out and took his chain. Both Trick and Yung Berg are scheduled to play Summer Jamz tonight, so if anybody go, be sure to report back to the group if Trick wore Berg's Transformer chain on stage and if Berg look beat down or not.

Da Brat Sentenced Three Years

A DeKalb County judge sentenced rapper Da Brat to three years in prison Friday for striking a woman with a rum bottle at an Atlanta-area nightclub. Superior Court Judge Gail Flake also sentenced the rapper, whose real name is Shawntae Harris, to seven years probation and 200 hours of community service.
The incident happened at a Halloween party at Studio 72 nightclub on Oct. 31 2007. The club is on Highway 29 near Tucker.
About six members of Harris’s family wept when a sheriff’s deputy took her into custody.
“I love y’all,” Harris, 34, said as she was led out of the courtroom. “We love you too” the relatives replied in unison. Harris entered a guilty plea to aggravated assault. The victim, a waitress at the club, had to be hospitalized after being struck by Harris, and Flake said the woman suffered permanent facial scarring. Harris and the victim had gotten into an altercation prior to the assault, police said at the time.

You know, I love New York,” [Tupac] said. “But I’m not f**king with New York right now.”
The air in the room seemed to get really thick all of a sudden. His demeanor had changed so quickly that I was truly afraid....

Issac Hayes' Funeral

First of all, Isaac Hayes had two funerals. There was the one on Monday that was open to the public and a private one on Sunday that was organized by the Scientologists. The Sunday one was filled to the brim with celebrities including Isaac's fellow scientologists Doug E. Fresh, Chick Corea, Tom Cruise, Anne Archer and Kelly Preston, as well as his non-Scientology celeb pals Denzel Washington, Wesley Snipes, Bootsy Collins, Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Sam Moore, Aretha Franklin, Chuck D, Maurice White, John Singleton, Richard Roundtree, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson any many others. Anyway, folks are whispering about how weird the Scientology funeral was because they barely mentioned his music, no one sang any of his songs and they didn't talk about his film or television career. They say the whole memorial, if you could call it that, was mostly his Scientology pals talking about themselves while being filmed by Scientology leaders. Also, according to witnesses, the Scientology speakers and performers — there were seven in all — made little reference to Hayes’ 11 grown children, just to his wife of three years and their 2-year-old son. The snubs were so blatant, Isaac's oldest daughter Veronica, who didn’t get to speak until nearly two and a half hours had passed, felt the need to declare, "Just to clear it up, there are 11 children." Isaac's family members are also upset because he was not buried next to his grandmother, but instead buried in what they referred to as "the white cemetery."

The Other Night

They say Prince sat outside Janelle Monae's concert at The Viper Room, waited for her to come out then invited her into his limo for a chat.

50 Ain't Talking

Arson investigators trying to get to the bottom of the suspicious fire that burned 50 Cent's baby mama's house to the ground are frustrated because they have not been able to question the rapper at all regarding the case. While Shaniqua has met with investigators several times, her lawyers claim 50, who was in New Orleans filming a movie at the time of the blaze, has refused to speak with investigators.

Better Black TV

P Miller, who, by the way, does not wish to be called Master P anymore, is starting a new television station called Better Black TV.
According to a company statement, the network will provide "positive content for a black and brown culture."
BBTV, set to launch in 2009, will be a general entertainment channel running a wide range of scripted, unscripted and news programming, including drama and comedy series, movies, animation, reality, politics, sports and entertainment news, children's educational and teen programming, as well as "responsible hip-hop music and videos."
I wonder if they're going to show "I'm Bout It" late at night?
