West Coast rapper Xzibit is mourning the tragic loss of his newborn son Xavier Kingston Joiner, who was born prematurely May 15 and died early Monday. "His lungs were not strong enough to handle regular oxygen on his own," the emcee, who rose to fame as a protégé of Dr. Dre and host of MTV's "Pimp My Ride," wrote in an emotional posting on his MySpace blog. "Life is too short to be fake. Hold on to your kids if you have them, protect them and show them you love them everyday," Xzibit, born Alvin Nathaniel Joiner, wrote. "You can have all the material wealth in the universe but it is NOTHING compared to having your family."

Joakim Noah Arrested In Florida

Police arrested Chicago Bulls forward Joakim Noah, son of famous tennis player Yannick Noah, May 25 in Gainesville, Fla. on charges of possession of marijuana and having an open container of alcohol. According to police, Joakin was walking down the street carrying a clear plastic cup with an "iced amber-colored" drink, that he put on the ground when he saw police headed his way. When the cops discovered the drink was Hennesy, Noah was taken to an area police station where they found one joint inside a cigarette package in his pants. Noah was charged with possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis and an open container violation. He could face up to six months in jail and a $500 fine for the marijuana charge.

Wesley Granted Bail

Wesley Snipes gets to stay out on bail while he appeals his three year prison sentence for three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file his income tax returns. Judge William Terrell Hodges granted Snipes' motion for bail Thursday pending appeal of his case, saying Snipes doesn't pose a flight risk and is not a threat to the community.

The new novel, titled Midnight, follows the character of the same name, who you'll remember was Winter Santiaga’s nemesis and protector. Midnight is set for an October release.

Kanye West Sued Over Uncleared Sample

Kayne West, Common, Method Man and Redman are being sued by the daughter of a jazz musican because they did not get permission from his estate to use samples of his music. The lawsuit said all the rappers used portions of late U.S. jazz musician Joe Farrell's 1974 musical composition "Upon This Rock" in three separate songs -- West in "Gone," Common in "Chi-City" and Method Man and Redman in their song "Run 4 Cover." Kathleen Firrantello is seeking punitive damages of at least $1 million and asked that no further copies of the songs be made, sold or performed, according to the lawsuit.
