No Money Mo Problems
Michael Vick’s finances are in such disarray that a bankruptcy judge will hold a hearing and could appoint a trustee to oversee the fallen quarterback’s dwindling estate.
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Frank Santoro has ordered a hearing for Sept. 5, according to court documents filed in Virginia in the case of the Falcons quarterback.
“It has become clear since the filing of this case that Mr. Vick has very limited knowledge of the state of his finances. … It appears that Mr. Vick has routinely relied upon others to make financial decisions for him, giving them discretionary control over large sums of money,” Santoro wrote in his order on Wednesday. Vick filed for bankruptcy protection from his creditors, including the Falcons, on July 7. He stated that he had assets and debts in the range of $10-50 million.Vick originally sought to have David Talbot serve as his trustee in the case. He was called a “trusted advisor” in the original filing. However Talbot was charged with securities fraud by the State of New Jersey last Friday in Bergen County. He is accused of swindling $500,000 from church members. Vick has sought to have him dismissed as an advisor.

Michael Vick Update
Have you been wondering what Michael Vick has been doing? Besides push-ups in the yard, and buying protection with cigarettes, I mean. Your boy has been playing a little football in jail and washing dishes for 12 cents an hour. He's also been corresponding with Atlanta Falcon's owner Arthur Blank. "He talks about the process he is going through and what he has learned, the lessons of life, how he's going to come out a different person. He's sorry he has affected so many people in a negative way — the league, our club, our fans. He feels awful about that. The letters sound quite sincere to me. From a mental standpoint, he sounds good. I told Michael I'll do whatever I can to be helpful to him personally. Nothing to do with the Atlanta Falcons,” Blank said. "He's a human being and I would like to reach out and if I can be productive to him in some way, I would be happy to do that.

Legal Victory For Vick
Jailed quarterback Michael Vick can keep all but $3.75 million of the nearly $20 million in bonus money he received from the Atlanta Falcons following a ruling Monday by a federal judge. The Falcons sought to recover the bonuses after Vick pleaded guilty to federal charges in a dogfighting operation. The bonuses were paid from 2004-07.

Michael Vick Co-Defendant Gets 2 Months
The man who provided prosecutors most of the information that led to Michael Vick's arrest was sentenced to two months in prison Friday for his role in the NFL star's dogfighting ring. Tony Taylor of Hampton helped establish Vick's "Bad Newz Kennels" operation and joined in killing dogs but later became the government's chief informant in the case, prosecutor Michael Gill said at Taylor's 10-minute sentencing hearing. "He was the most significant source of information in this case," Gill told U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson. "He did not hesitate in any way." Gill said it would have taken the government significantly longer to build a case against Vick and his three co-defendants had it not been for Taylor, who provided details of more than half of the "overt acts" outlined in the indictment.

Vick Ordered To Pay For Dogs Upkeep
Michael Vick's "deteriorating financial condition" prompted federal prosecutors to ask a judge to order the beleaguered NFL superstar to set aside nearly $1 million for the care of pit bulls seized from his dogfighting operation.
In court papers filed yesterday, the government asked federal Judge Henry Hudson to issue a restraining order that essentially would freeze about $928,000 to fulfill Vick's legal obligation to cover the costs of caring for the dogs and finding homes for them.
Prosecutors cited claims by Vick's creditors and former employer that threaten his ability to make good:
* An arbitrator's ruling that the quarterback should repay the Atlanta Falcons a $20 million bonus.
* A lawsuit by Wachovia Bank claiming Vick and others defaulted on a $1.3 million loan for a wine store.
* Royal Bank of Canada's lawsuit seeking payment for default on a $2.5 million credit line.
* A lawsuit by 1st Source Bank of South Bend, Ind., seeking at least $2 million for loans involving a rental-car business.

Michael Vick Filing For Bankruptcy?
Last week we heard that, after putting his homes in Virginia and Georgia on the market, Michael Vick bought an apartment in Miami Beach 450 Alton Rd, if you’re nasty. Some wondered why Mike would sell his Virginia and Georgia estates, then turn around and buy an apartment in Florida when he can't even leave Virginia right now and is very likely going to jail for three years or more. They say it’s because Michael is going to file for bankruptcy and the lenient bankruptcy laws in Florida make it easier for you to keep your home, unlike the bankruptcy laws in Georgia or Virginia.

They say Mike hasn't been seen there yet, but that his released-from-the-Miami Dolphins-with-statutory rape charges-pending brother Marcus has. The Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade has an apartment there too and they say Shaquille O'Neal hangs out there A LOT.

Michael Vick Homeless?
On Sunday, the New York Post reported that Michael Vick, having already sold his Virginia home and after moving out of his Georgia home so it can be shown to potential buyers, finds himself homeless. The Post claims records show Vick currently owns no other property. Vick's lawyer had no comment, and his agent would not return calls. He'll be alright, you know he bought his mama, his baby mama, plus at least 3 jump offs a crib.
