Damon Wayans' new sitcom 'Poppa's House,' canceled after one season on CBS...
From Deadline
It’s one and done for CBS‘ comedy series Poppa’s House, starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr., which is not being renewed for a second season. It was CBS’ only freshman scripted series on the bubble and the only one to get canceled. The others, dramas Matlock, NCIS: Origins and Watson and comedy Georgie & Mandy First Marriage, all have been picked up for next season.
As Deadline reported last month, Poppa’s House had been vying for a single remaining comedy slot on CBS’ 2025-26 schedule with three half-hour pilots, the single-camera DMV, the multi-camera Zarna, and The Neighborhood planted spinoff. It come down to DMV, Zarna and Poppa’s House, with DMV ultimately getting the spot with a series order.

All that PR they did and it still didn't move the needle. When DEI died so did the chance of networks wanting to fight for keeping them
I tried to watch but the comedic timing seemed off to me so I stopped. The setup didn't work for me either. I hope they try to work together again but with different writers.
Don't blame this on DEI. The Wayans were only funny once (Living Color) and this was just as bad and boring as most of their products. Next time give a shot to some up-and-comer who is tuned into what the Black audience which actually watches broadcast tv is interested in. That's what NBC did with Quinta Brunson and they ended up with the #1 comedy.
^ABC
CBS is not having much to do with Black people and have made it clear. They just settled a DEI lawsuit placed by a YT male. Gayle is lucky she still has her job. CBS is pushing Sylvester Stallone on Paramount+ and Pluto. Let's see how things go with a focus on YT entertainment.
Black people don't need the networks. They just don't know it.
I never peeped it.
DAMON SR.'S SALACIOUS REVELATIONS MIGHT BE THE REASON FOR CANCELATION
The show would've worked better w/o a laugh track
It was a really corny show. No revelations, no DEI, it was just wack.
Didn't even know they had a show.
Never heard of it
I watched it once and I kind of liked it, but I totally forgot about it.
I agree with 1:19 and 2:43. It was corny and its very obvious they are not in tuned with what's truly going on in the black community, much less any community. Not sure what they should work on at this point...
I tried to watch but the female doctor (I forget her name was the worst). I couldn't deal with her lines, of just being obnoxious. Poor writing.
I see that Damon was trying to help his son get work and experience. Nothing wrong with that.
I LOVED it! I was rooting for it : (
Lame show.
