A new Tyler Perry sitcom called, "She the People," starring actress Terri J. Vaughn set for a May release on Netflix...
From Deadline
The people have spoken – or Netflix has, at least.
Tyler Perry‘s sitcom for the streamer, She the People, will launch in two parts, the streamer announced today. An eight-episode part one tranche drops on May 22, with part two, also eight episodes, following on August 14.
The show stars Terri J. Vaughn as Lieutenant Governor candidate Antoinette Dunkerson, who runs a successful campaign and must then figure out how to thrive under a sexist and condescending governor and keep her family in line now that they’re in the public eye.
Jade Novah, Drew Olivia Tillman, Tré Boyd, Dyon Brooks and Jo Marie Payton also star.

Wasn’t she in Steve Harvey in the 90s? Yea I was a teenager then …good for her long time coming!!
@6:29, Yes, she was Lovita Alizay Jenkins! I absolutely love this for her. She’s absolutely gorgeous, and is unproblematic. I don’t really like Tylah Perry work but I’ll check this out just to support her.
Where the Hell has she been? Did TP find her under rock somewhere?
Terri has been working. I remember seeing her on 'Insecure' and a few other shows.
SHE PLAYED THE MAID ON GREENLEAF
boring one note actress. I'll pass.
^I think she's been stuck in her roles because of her lack of choices, not because of her limitations. Happens to a lot of actors, especially Black ones.
If I was a actor I'd do regional and local stuff. Fuc hollywood. They just want Mammies, Jezabels, and Neck Twisters.
@7:53 she's been working behind the camera, along with raising a family.
