Colin Kaepernick Still Training for the NFL

Eight years ago former pro football player Colin Kapernick was blacklisted by the National Football League for kneeling during the National Anthem to protest unchecked police brutality in the Black community [click here if you missed that].

Kap's girlfriend, Nessa Diab, claims he is still training everyday hoping for his big comeback...

From TMZ
Colin Kaepernick hasn't played in a professional football game in nearly a decade, but the former star quarterback is STILL training for his NFL comeback ... this according to his longtime partner Nessa Diab.
TMZ Sports caught up with the radio and TV host this week in New York City ... when we asked about Kap, who remains a free agent, as several NFL teams are still without a QB.
Nessa -- who had a child with the former 49ers quarterback in 2022 -- told us Kap's busting his [butt] in the gym, training regularly, hoping an NFL GM will give him a shot to show he's still got what it takes to lead a football team.
"All day, every day!" Nessa said of Kap's training. "Nothing has changed! Nothing!"
Kaepernick last worked out for an NFL squad -- the Las Vegas Raiders -- in 2022. The team didn't sign Colin. Before that, he was invited to a Seattle Seahawks workout sesh in 2020.
The 37-year-old also organized a workout at a high school in Atlanta, where scouts from seven NFL teams showed up to watch him throw.
Last year, Kap was offered a job with the Los Angeles Chargers ... however, it wasn't as a player, but instead as a coach. CK, who would've been working for his former HC Jim Harbaugh, chose to pass on the opportunity.
Kaepernick, who last played in an NFL game in January 2017, threw for 72 touchdowns in six seasons as a pro ... and bottom line, Colin's still hoping to add a few digits to those career stats!

He should start a training camp for young atheletes, or arena ball, or join a European league. He should also start preparing himself for politics. We need people with his level of integrity in office

Intergrity? He literally compared the NFL to slavery, so I guess he's a runaway slave trying to get back on the Plantation....make it make sense!

I hope his dreams oc returning come to fruition.

To blacklisted this man for speaking out against police brutality for 8 years is crazy work. So many influence of black color and not one supported this man. Seems really contradictory and on some hater level at this point. Jay Z fans are weird. The NFL is wrong. They literally pay to keep abusers of women lifestyle out of the public eye but Colin is kept out of the league for standing up for his ‘brothers’ that have been unalived by police.

@751, That's a good idea. He'd certainly get my vote. I wonder if he thought about politics. I hope so.

And Nessa is still wtih him. Blessings to both of them.

If he really wanted to get back in, why not take the coaching position? Athletes’ retirement ages are relatively young due to wear and tear on the body. Seems like he can go further as a coach.

Hmm. Glad he's still training and staying in shape. Interesting that he been with this girl 7 years and ain't married her yet.

It isn't his fault that the institution is racist, and football fanatics are more than willing to ignore racism in favor of entertainment, while the same fanatics call themselves boycotting companies that they percieve to be racist for canceling DEI programs. The NFL should be the Target of professional sports, but fans don't have willpower.

He's probably in better shape than many.

Never gonna happen. You can't talk ish about your boss and expect to keep your job. Not in the NFL, Burger King or Bank of America. You then sue your boss, settle out of court and still expect to be re-hired. His expectations are simply unrealistic and he seems to be stuck in a victim mentality. He's been offered numerous jobs and turned them all down for one reason or another.

I wish Colin would have just played for Canada or any other league that would have accepted him and worked on winning a championship so the NFL could have taken notice and possibly revisit hiring him. Working out and hoping for a call from the NFL, while aging is not it.

Dude just start a team like Snoop

Listen up... the NFL is NOT letting him back in. Especially after he sued them and they paid him MILLIONS in a settlement. It's not gonna happen. The End. He needs to move you and open a youth training camp or something.

A lot of the comments are true. He's aging out himself. If he were to play for an NFL team again I believe the racist fans would boo him and ticket sales would decline. He really wants to.play, go to another country. Politics is another option down the road
I love he stood up and hate got rejected.

It is great that he is staying condition - as a person and as an athlete but he is beyond the average NFL playing years. He should be a coach and continue to fight with his advocacy. The NFL dimmed his light and it's irretrievably broken. I hope he gets what he wants and stays encouraged but it is a little sad/over. And if the END RACISM in the end zone era of the NFL didn't permit a comeback, in this current political climate - please.

Sorry but by this time, no one is looking 👀 for his comeback, who’s watching him

The memo not to hire him is water under the bridge for the NFL. To hire him at this point would be like digging at an old scab on your leg. Yeah. Not pretty. Nobody reopening that. No one man is bigger than the game. That’s rude number one

The NFL is clear on their position which is there will be no revolution in the NFL. No social issues will be discussed in the NFL. This is not league for a Muhammad Ali type in the NFL. If you want to be a revolutionary you will not be playing football in the NFL. Get it got it good. This is the NFL’s position.

I'm here for it. Let's gooooooo Cap!!!

Das a big a$$ fro doe!!

The fact that he has rejected the coaching job and every little bread crumb they threw at him will prove him as dificult to work with. He should of been the in shape coach that could run his own plays and maybe they would have looked at him differently than a primadonna

It's Kaep not "Cap" Anyways, I want him to win, but, it's been nearly 10 years since he played

Repeating the same behavior, expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity

It’s time to move on. Use your settlement wisely and be well.

How arrogant must you be to turn down viable opportunities when the clock is literally running down and nobody's checking for you?

Colin can start his own league for teenagers. Didn't they give him a lot of money? When you settle, you are barred from the industry.
