Not being funny, but I wonder if she's wearing a wig in that top picture. I love seeing how Black women's beauty routines have evolved over the years.

I hate ironing, I'd rather clean the bathroom than iron a handkerchief (as my Mama used to make me do) but I had no idea a sister came up with a way to make ironing easier.

@9:01. IKTR. We have ALWAYS brought it when it comes to being beautiful. And we are the model that YTs use for their own beauty. Of course, it's ghetto on us till they do it.... YT has even made laws to try and stop us from being beautiful.

In 1786 the Governor of Louisiana proclaimed that Black women, whether freed OR NOT, had to wear their hair in a handkerchief of a headscarf. It was the Tignon Law and it was made, in part, because YT women were jealous of the beautiful adornments (feathers, jewels, etc) we wore in our hair. Jealous YT women were the ones who went to the governor requesting change be made to these women who beautified their hair.

I use me ironing board sometimes as my desk to sort papers. LOLO I'm a pretty good ironer but thank goodness for permeate press
