R.I.P. Angie Stone

Singer Angie Stone died in a car crash early Saturday morning in Alabama, age 63...

From Variety
Angie Stone, the soul singer who rose to fame as a member of pioneering female hip-hop trio the Sequence and later became a prominent soul singer, died at the age of 63.
Stone died in a car crash in Montgomery, Alabama early Saturday morning. A rep for the singer confirmed to Variety that she was coming from a show with her band members and background singers when her Sprinter turned over. Stone was the only person who died in the accident.
The Grammy-nominated musician was best known for her 2001 hit “Wish I Didn’t Miss You,” a quiet storm soul record carried by her husky, rich vocals and a prominent sample of the O’Jays’ “Backstabbers.” Throughout her career, she released 10 solo albums and was nominated for three Grammys, including best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals in 2003 and best female R&B vocal performance the following year.

She was 31 and D'Angelo was 19 when they got together. She also knocked her daughter's tooth out. I won't be shedding tears for this one.

Angie (31) and D'Angelo (19) were two consenting adults when they were in a relationship. Angie's daughter was 31 when she rose up on her mama and got her azz handed to her. D'Angelo and Angie's daughter are not victims and are both shedding tears for her as are all of her fans.

RIP, Angie.

Angie groomed D'Angelo and if you think that is okay, that means no teenagers are safe around you. And any monster with enough hatred in their heart to pick up something and hit their own child in the face doesn't get sympathy. She also kept D'Angelo's name in her mouth long after they broke up. Folks always wanna turn someone into a saint, just because they died. She was a miserable, narcissistic mess. She was also a rudimentary songwriter.

Where are the pics of the crash?

I remember her on VH1. It was a celebrity weight loss show. Bobby Brown was on there too. She had a difficult time performing cardio task like walking a mile in the woods. She didn't want to eat the food. I think she ended up leaving early on the show. If I remember correctly, she was a diabetic. That's why she on the show to lose weight. She had beautiful skin and you can't deny her voice.

@ 8:36 AM...I can't be shamed for imaginary situations. But I do remember what it was like to be 19 and 31. Nineteen-year olds can buy cigarettes, marry, join the military, work in a strip club, do p o r n, etc. etc. If D'Angelo do not consider himself a victim, why do you?

Look R. Kelly, I'm not going to argue about how no 30yo should have anything in common with a literal teenager. And if you do somehow think they have something in common, it shows me that folks like you are why No Child Left Behind was needed, my window-licking friend. Anyway, my job is actually to support victims of abuse, and I'll be the first to tell you that just because someone doesn't identity as a victim doesn't mean they are. Now run along, before Chris Hanson knocks on your door.

Not agreeing with her messing with a 19 year old at 31, that’s crazy and then she two pieced her daughter? Well that’s another story but may she rest in peace

If my child is grown and she's still benefits from my business and wants to talk sh*t to me, she’ll get a two piece and more.

^Your Grown Child can and will also press charges on you too for that "two piece and more". Police and a judge will be in your life because it's no longer referred to as chastising your child. If she Grown it's called Assault by that point!

There are laws against assault but not mutual combat. I never cared to look up the outcome of Angie's arrest. Knowing her grown daughter lived with Angie with a child and was being disrespectful is all I needed to know. That's family business and they both made up. D'Angelo was old enough to make decisions about what he wanted to do with his own body. If it bothers anyone else then it's their problem. In my state the age of consent is 16. Petition congress and try to change the law if you're that passionate about it. But you won't. It's more important and easier for you to disrespect the dead.

They both have a passion for music and that was their common goal. When folks work closely together sparks can fly. Musician and creative ppl don't follow stiff conformed rules.

You still on here tryna make that same point someone already had taken you to task for, perv, 6:38 am?

@6:38 Yep

Angie help hone D'Angelo's sound for his 2nd album by co-writing several songs I didn't really care for their intimate relationship but I wasn't in their business like that. Plus, they weren't together during the making of his debut album. I think D'Angelo was older than 19 when he was creating his 2nd album.

@ 12:25 PM...So, you're still here to witness a debate on something that has nothing to do with you? Haha! Why don't you just come out and say that you're obsessed with a little something soft & sweet?

How much did Universal owe her?
