When the show came out I was attracted to the look of the show. It was a slick, cool, fast moving, and well-dressed men with an edge. This was the second time a TV show had a Black and White duo as cops. The first was Bill Cosby and Robert Culp in I Spy.

Thomas Carter is a huge deal because in the beginning when Black Directors weren't even sought after. He paved the way and helped to open doors in Hollywood when they never thought they could trust black people with leading a production. He did it, he done it and is still doing it!!! Give that man his flowers.
