Two months ago Jamie Foxx released his Netflix comedy special, What Had Happened Was.... where he detailed the mysterious medical emergency that left him in a coma [click here if you missed that].
Now What Had Happened Was... has been named the most watched comedy special for the back half of 2024...
From Deadline
Jamie Foxx had Netflix‘s most-viewed comedy special for the back half of 2024 with What Had Happened Was…, the streamer shared on Wednesday.
The revelation came as part of Netflix’s biannual “What We Watched” report. Foxx’s traction with the special is no surprise, given that it gave the first in-depth window into a severe health scare he experienced in April 2023, while filming Netflix’s recently unveiled action comedy Back in Action in Atlanta.
While not globally available, Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was… notched 13,300,000 hours viewed between its December 10 premiere date and end of year, coming in as the 119th most-viewed TV program during this period.
Jamie responded to the honor on social media.

Haven't seen it but I guess this is validation for his stunt.
They should have counted the people who actually watched the whole thing. I couldn't get through that performative trash.
it was just ok to me
I haven't seen it either. I think they meant Deon Cole was the most watched comedian on Netflix.
It's one thing to have people watch, but did they laugh? Did they like it? I watched it recently and it wasn't funny. It was story time. He could have just sat down with Gayle/Oprah/Robin and saved us the hour.
After it was over, I wanted my time back.
Told you so. I knew this would happen and said that he should just sit and tell his story to someone who would direct questions to him, instead of his recounting what others told him had occurred.
Jamie is NOT on the narcissis list agendas...🤣😂First, they can't even acknowledge that themselves as human let alone the enormous empath spreading through the veins from others as this man came back from a decline. Second, they hat3 others attention, when they cant get it but don't know how strenuous his debacle was in those 20 days from being lifeless. Third, they need to listen to Human by Human league.to sing that chorus since they hat3 their own feelings since they've been hurt before from probably a misunderstanding that could've been resolved than having us " surviving a narcissist"online Puhh, brah.
Hès more entertaining in comedy sketches.
Still not funny.
This is a cruel joke.
From what I have read if you watch a program on Netflix for 15 minutes at least, then it counts as a viewing. Jamie isnt THAT funny to me but there are other comics out there who i dont find funny at all and they are breaking records.
Whatever.
