2:09- Many shows with the word 'die' in the title has met their end b/c some potential viewers may have gotten the wrong idea about the synopsis of the show and passed on it. Your sarcasm only makes you look stupid in the process.
Natasha Rothwell was one of the writers on 'Insecure' and I could tell she must write for this show, also. I've never heard of it until today so maybe the show needed more promotion.

This was a justified cancellation. It is so much blind praise in Rothwell's Instagram comments, I thought I watched a different show. The plot line really had a self deprecation storyline that bordered on extremely low self esteem. If I was overweight, I'd be mad because it was woe is me the fat black woman.....like let's root for the character. And in the season, she (the character)kind of got her swing of things and she had no black female friendships and was having sex with latinx coworkers in a meat storage room! so weird. they tried to appeal to everyone on that show and captured no one. should be cancelled and it would have been okay as a one season/limited show I agree.

I've never heard of it so I checked out the first episode. I liked it so I'll continue with it. Natasha Rothwell was good in The White Lotus, too.

I never heard of it either, but if it was cancelled after 1 season perhaps it wasn't worth watching.

I watched it when i saw it was her in it. It was fine, mildly pleasant. It wasn’t a waste of time but i didnt see the need for a 2nd season.
I canceled my Hulu when they didn’t renew Black Cake.

^That's a good breakdown right there. I hate rose colored reviews just because it's a Black character.
It sounds like this would've been better off as a mini series instead of a whole series.
