Diddy Calls for Mann Act Charge Dismissal

Bad Boy Entertainment CEO, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, is currently being held without bond while awaiting trial on human trafficking charges based on claims made by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in the $30 million civil suit she filed against him [click here if you missed that].

Now Diddy is demanding the case be tossed out on the grounds that the Mann Act used to charge him is inherently racist...

From TMZ
Diddy says the feds are trying to take him down purely because he's a successful Black man, and they're using a law that's been "racist" since its inception to do it ... according to new documents.
Diddy's attorneys filed docs Tuesday asking the judge to dismiss count 3 of the U.S. Attorney's case against him, which accuses him of "transportation to engage in prxstitution" -- also known as the Mann Act.
It's been on the books as a federal statute since 1910, and Diddy points out it's the same thing the government used to take down rock 'n roll legend Chuck Berry and boxer Jack Johnson ... who were both -- not coincidentally, Diddy says -- Black men.
In the docs, Diddy says he's being "selectively prosecuted" because of his race. As his lawyers put it ... "No other person, and certainly no white person, has ever been prosecuted under the White-Slave Traffic Act (the Mann Act) for hiring male escorts from another State."
As we've reported, the feds allege Diddy hired male six workers to attend his so-called "freak off" parties -- but Diddy believes "he is being prosecuted for conduct that regularly goes unpunished."
Diddy's attorneys say prosecutors have built their case "based primarily on allegations that Mr. Combs and two of his longtime girlfriends sometimes brought a third party -- a male escort -- into their sixual relationship."
He goes so far as to say the hiring of escorts is "common and indeed widely accepted in American culture today." Diddy claims the escort service related to his case is a legit business operating "out in the open."
It's interesting ... Diddy's essentially copping to the crime, but accusing the government of only charging him because he's Black. According to the docs, his legal team believes the whole indictment is singling out Diddy due to race, but especially the Mann Act portion in count 3.
As for white people who've gotten away with this kinda thing ... Diddy holds up former NY Governor Eliot Spitzer, who was forced to resign in 2008 following his involvement in a escort scandal.
To Diddy's point, 4 people running the escort service in Spitzer's case were charged under the Mann Act, but Spitzer himself was not.

The origins of the law were racist in order to trap Jack Johnson but that doesn't make the law illegitimate. The origins of the USA were racist but...never mind.

Oh please. I'd throw him UNDER the jail and would use any law I could, racist or not.

Fuc him, y'all, and any justification he might be able to find for not going to jail.

Come at me and see if I give a dam.

His lawyers are trying everything possible to get Dirty Diddy off.

If you examine most laws in America you'll find the punishment is always more severe for black people. And guess what...they don't care. Diddy better be getting those high priced lawyers to prove exactly why he's innocent of the charges. That's it. Period. The why me cuz I'm black defense seldom works out

If he didn't do any of these things, why is he concerned about this Act? He's pled not guilty, so this should be the least of his worries. He's innocent, right?

diddy trying anything to get out - why doesn't he have a bond anyway?

Given who is in the white house....I can't disagree....

When he was shooting and assaulting people and getting away with it there were no cries of racism.

Cut the shat. Sentencing is always within the discretion of THE JUDGE, as long as he/she remains within the sentencing parameters listed within the statute.

Something tells me his lawyers are gonna keep fishing until they get him off on some legal technicality. Regardless of what you think… guilty or innocent… his money is working for him.

Too bad he didn't find a way to delay his indictment for six months. Trump would have made it go away.

May he get ALL HE GAVE, the ancestor won't rest until he pays for all the blood he has spilled. City College don't forget.

Smh it is forgetting that there are several white men in jail right now. I don’t know if they were charged under the man, but nevertheless, they were charged for trafficking Harvey Weinstein being one of them and the Abercrombie and Finch man they are in jail right now with no bail only one of them got bond Denny. Love is accusing people of racism.

City College was absolutely Diddy's fault. He wouldn't open the doors.

No it wasn't! You don't know what you're talking about! I was at that B-Ball Game and it wasn't Puff's fault! Speak on what you know!

City College WAS PissDiddy's fault. His first sacrifices to put him up on top and he had only a few security people there but quickly paid kinfolks of the dead off.

You Don't Know what you're talking about, Wasn't There, & probably wasn't even alive when it occurred! So STFU, 3:56!
