Kenner's inventions include:
Sanitary belt: A predecessor to the maxi pad that held menstrual towels in place and prevented blood from leaking onto clothing
Shower wall and bathtub mounted back washer: Helped users reach difficult to access areas
Toilet paper holder: Ensured the loose end of the paper was within reach
Attachment for a walker or wheelchair: Includes a hard-surfaced tray and a soft pocket for carrying items

It saddens me that she didn't get compensated for her inventions. Lost generational wealth directly contributes to the problems in our community today.
^^^^^ exactly!
True
That back washer idea didn't take off because only 13% of the population bathes properly

I feel that way about all the Black inventors that RWS has posted this month.
THANK YOU SNITCH FOR THIS ONE.
I HAD DONE A REPORT ON HER FOR BHM IN 5TH GRADE & FOUND MARY KENNER'S STORY FASCINATING THE MORE I LEARNED ABOUT HER.
She came from a long line of inventors. Unfortunately, a good number of those inventions were stolen or became public domain. This is the primary reasons why I will take my ideas and inventions to the grave. "Certain people" can't be trusted with our genius. Kenner was intelligent and beautiful. Thank goodness she still came out on top to be successful despite the oppression. Thanks for this Snitch!
Her Inventions are useful to women who have just given birth (the Sanitary Belt, which was used by new mothers for Post Natal in hospitals), as well as those who suffer physical disabilities or the elderly which allows them accessibility in their homes!
She was thinking what others may not had even considered during that time frame.
Ms. Kenner's inventions are very necessary for those who have access to them current day!
