Wendy Williams’ friends and family launched a GoFundMe page with a $50,000 goal for the former talk show host, who said she has only $15 to her name while trying to free herself from a guardianship.
“Friends of the Williams Family” organized the “Support Wendy Williams’ Fight for Independence” fundraiser earlier this week in the hope of “expediting her return” from a New York wellness facility “to her rightful home” in Miami, where her elderly dad lives.
“For far too long, Wendy has faced the challenges of being unjustly placed under guardianship and labeled as incapacitated, despite her strong will and determination to live her life independently,” the page read.
The organizers called Williams’ current living situation “not only unfair but also deeply isolating,” as she has denied being “cognitively impaired” like her fellow patients.
“The guardian assigned to her has severed her connections with friends and family, leaving her without the support network she so desperately needs,” the campaign claimed. “This isolation in New York has made it increasingly difficult for her to maintain her strength and resilience.”
Williams’ friends added that her family members are “suffering emotionally as they witness the toll her isolation is taking on her well-being.”

A Gofund me?? Wendy's sister has a law license and her niece is a news reporter in Miami, why would I contribute to a fundraiser? Nope!
Sad, but girl bye! You ain't getting a penny from me. When I lost my job and was about to be evicted you OR your family WOULDN'T help me even if I reached out and asked. foh Yall will figure it out... or not. NOBODY helps me. I'm on my own. I pull it together & figure it out, I wait it out until I have the money, or I do without. Sounds crazy to ask people for money so she can gain access to her millions... that she won't even let us borrow a dollar from when she does re-gain access to her money. Again, I got my own bills to pay.
I'm guessing they're trying to raise funds to afford an attorney so that they may fight the attorney who's over WW's case in order to get a judge to rule against WW's attorney so she can be free. IDK, I'm just guessing.
