Twelve years ago Beyoncé and Jay Z filed to trademark daughter Blue Ivy Carter's name, but faced opposition from the Blue Ivy party planning company [click here if you missed that].
The Carters have won the battle...
From The Sun
BEYONCE can finally register the trademark for her daughter Blue Ivy's name after winning a battle over a Wisconsin clothing store, The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal.
Superstar Beyonce first tried to get federal regulators to trademark her eldest child Blue Ivy's unusual name after she was born 12 years ago.
Beyonce's BGK Trademark Holdings LLC applied at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office but ended up fighting with a wedding planner, Veronica Morales.
Morales, from Massachusetts, opposed the application as she had called her business Blue Ivy Events since September 2009, paperwork showed.
The dispute led to a tribunal in 2020 and the USPTO rejected Morales' complaints and ruled the two were not enough alike.
Despite Beyonce's legal victory, her lawyers never continued with the application and it was eventually abandoned.
She applied a second time in November 2023, but again quickly ran into issues when an examiner issued a tentative ruling because of a Winsconsin clothing store having a Blue Ivy logo.
Documents show they claimed Blue Ivy Carter was too "confusingly similar" to the boutique, which has used the logo since 2011.
But after challenging the denial, The U.S. Sun can confirm they have now been allowed to go forward with the process.
The boutique itself never opposed the application.
It has since been amended by an examining attorney and approval has been given for publication in The Trademark Official Gazette on December 31.

THEY SHOULD'VE TRADEMARKED THAT NAME RIGHT BEFORE HER BIRTH 13 YEARS AGO, THEN IT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN A BATTLE IN THE FIRST PLACE.
The store closed down from no bizz-ness. LOLO
It seems the name is not that unique.
I dislike when she wears her hair in a high ponytail. Her head is shaped too weird to wear her hair in that style and the blonde showcases her nappy roots and edges more fully.
What's wrong with nappy roots and edges?
^ Nothin's wrong w/ nappy roots & edges. unless you're constantly wearing your hair blonde.. then the textures don't mix.
