Last year a Michigan prisoner filed a $100m civil lawsuit against Bad Boy Entertainment CEO, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, accusing him of sixual assault [click here if you missed that].
The case has been tossed out for waiting too long to file...
From In Touch
The male prisoner who accused Diddy of sixual assault at a Holiday Inn had his lawsuit thrown out of court this week after Jennifer Lopez was dragged into the drama, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, a federal judge in Michigan dismissed Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith’s case on Wednesday, January 22.
The judge ruled that the claims were barred by the statute of limitations. Derrick claimed Diddy, 55, assaulted him in 1997.
At the time, the law stated Derrick would have had three years to file claims. The recent order read, “[Derrick] filed this lawsuit in 2024, which is long after the applicable statute of limitations expired.”
The judge said, “Accordingly, [Derrick’s] claim is barred by the applicable Michigan statute of limitations and must be dismissed with prejudice.” The “with prejudice” means Derrick cannot refile or bring the same claims against Diddy in the future.
Diddy’s request for sanctions, specifically an order prohibiting Derrick from filing future cases against him, was denied.
The judge also declined Diddy’s demand for monetary sanctions against Derrick but noted they could be awarded in the future based on Derrick’s actions.

They doing did he like Young Thug. He will be out in two years. Character destroyed. Think about it y’all what did he really do? Yeah, he’s gonna have to pay for the Kathy hotel. Incident, as he should. But other than that, what’s the crime?
A recent $100 million lawsuit against rapper and producer Diddy was dismissed by the court. The lawsuit was filed by a former employee who alleged that she was subjected to unacceptable working conditions and violation of her rights. However, the court ruled that the allegations did not have sufficient grounds to proceed. The case has become one of the most talked about in showbiz, bringing attention to issues of labor rights and corporate ethics. Celebrity lawsuits always cause a lot of emotions, but it is important to remember that justice should always follow objective facts
They haven't told the public everything Doodoo has done. Some of y'all act like you know the law and are lawyers. This is not realty TV. Ppl's lives have been altered because of this man. Sit back and wait for the trial.
That Honey Bun picture of Derrick looks moist. He might have been a willing participant. LOLO
OF COURSE IT WAS. THE CLAIM IN THE LAWSUIT TO ME SOUND RIDICULOUS. OMO
^^How do you know what anyone's profession is? People from all walks of life read blogs. And some people who have stressful careers enjoy celebrity news and trashy gossip as a means of escapism. Newsflash: even lawyers! You sound dumb. Go away and be quiet.
^ I'M GONNA EXCUSE YOU BECAUSE I FIGURED YOUR ^ & COMMENT WAS TO SOMEONE ELSE SINCE I NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING REMOTELY ABOUT ANYONE'S "PROFESSION" IN MY COMMENT.
