Wendy Williams is 'more clear now than she's ever been,' a family insider has exclusively told DailyMail.com, following her guardian's claim that the beloved host's dementia battle has rendered her 'permanently incapacitated.'
The former radio personality, 60, was diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia in May 2023.
The diagnosis came one year after she was placed under a court-ordered legal guardianship that oversees both her finances and health.
Last month, attorneys for the star's guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, claimed in new filings that Williams 'has become cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated.'
It was the latest update amid a legal wrangle over the star's tell-all documentary, Where Is Wendy Williams? - which prompted widespread backlash when it aired in February.
However, a family insider hit back at the claim regarding William's mental state and said: 'She is more clear now than she’s ever been throughout the guardianship, which is a problem for some.'

Here’s the thing Wendy was diagnosed when she was still with her husband Kevin!!! He covered it up to allow her to continue to work. They been knew she had dementia ! Dementia is not a disease that just can be randomly put on someone . They are speaking as if one day you have dementia then the next you don’t. Dementia patients do have some good days and evenly they continue to decline I understand her family are trying to get her out from under guardianship but denying she is not sick is a problem. They can simply have her evaluated by an independent physician. If they keep saying she is not disabled that will lead the way for her ex husband to get those payments started back up! Smh I swear we as a community can’t handle business properly.
