Kendrick Lamar Ranked No.1 Pop Star of 2024

West Coast rapper Kendrick Lamar ranked the No. 1 Pop Star of 2024 by Billboard...

From Billboard
Kendrick Lamar’s 2024 was about many things, but first and foremost, it was all about him letting people know just what he’s capable of. It was essentially the thesis statement behind the biggest song of his year (“Sometimes you gotta pop out and show n—as”), with a sentiment that also ended up offering the title to the centerpiece event of his year. And throughout 2024, the often low-profile rapper did indeed keep popping out, emerging with new releases or revelations that captured headlines and captivated the culture. By year’s end, the people had unquestionably been shown, in ways they would never forget.

I thought Beyonce had that title. ๐Ÿ˜‚. Now rap is pop!

Hilarious work. They are just making ish up at this point!

This has got to be staged because I've never heard one of his songs played on the regular radio, Sirius XM, in stores, or even in passing cars. Something isn't adding up, but I used to hear Drake's boring music all of the time. I'm thinking Kdot is an executive creation and a marketing strategy because I've NEVER heard his music. When an artist is on top you constantly hear their songs, like Taylor and Beyonce, but I've never heard him. This is odd.

It really is odd 1:29. You’re not tripping! The Super Bowl is close and this is an attempt to not have people looking at Kendrick sideways but he accepted a business deal from Jay Z, so they need to keep Kendrick as positive as possible.

The highest selling rap album of 2024 is by Eminem. ๐Ÿ˜‚.

I agree @ 1:29PM.

@1:29. You'll get your day in court, Drake.

1:37 Is it a West Coast thing because I promise I've never heard his music in the South ? 2 :11, I'm a Black woman older thank Drake and Kdot , but nice try. I don't know or give a darn about a court case. I'm wondering how K is artist of the year but his music is never played across the country? So it's giving executive strategic projection where they proclaim he's the greatest hoping the public believes it. I hear Taylor, Beyonce, and others music but they don't play K. I'm glad I don't hear Drake now too because he was boring but atleast he was actually played.

When did rap become POP? It wasn't that long ago POP didn't want to have nothing to do with rap.

Yall are bugging. I live in Atl and couldn't escape hearing KDot's music this summer. I'm proud of him and hope he keeps it up.

I’m sorry but I don’t hear his music like some are claiming. Maybe it’s the station you listen to. I don’t know but he is not killing it out here like these posts like to profess.

This right here is how I know this post is cap!

Drake is still dominating the sales charts.
Drake reportedly remains the top-selling hip-hop artist of 2024 by album units, despite not putting out a single album this year. Chart Data shared the ranking on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, showing the Toronto rapper as the highest-selling artist.
Three spots behind Drake in fourth place is Kendrick Lamar. The two rappers have been feuding throughout 2024, with each dropping numerous diss tracks against the other. Lamar's status is being helped by his new project, GNX, which hit streaming services last month. It's projected to debut on the Billboard charts with over 300,000 in total sales. The tracklist features guest appearances from AzChike, Dody6, Hitta J3, Peysoh, Roddy Ricch, Siete7x, SZA, Wallie the Sensei, Lefty Gunplay, and YoungThreat. In addition to Kendrick Lamar, others on the album sales list include Future, Kanye West, Travis Scott, Eminem, NBA YoungBoy, Rod Wave, 21 Savage, and Tyler The Creator.

And that’s not even from any new chit!
Billboard is bought by Jay Z. I don’t believe this ish. Kendrick is not #1 nor the highest selling rap album of the year. People really trying to act like white people out here buy his music like that.

These blogs are apparently on Kendrick’s side. Too bad the people have spoken.
****
Drake sold 6.8 million album units in 2024, making him the first rapper to sell more than 5 million album units in the United States that year. This was nearly double the number of albums sold by Kendrick Lamar, who sold 3.5 million

@1:12 Beyonce NEVER sells a ton of records. She makes most of her money touring. And she stays in front of people to keep her fan base riled up. She has the most RIAA nominations but still NOT the top selling artist male or female. She just announced a new tour this coming spring. Los Angeles is the first tour stop. ✅️

Stop with the lies!

As of November 15, 2024, Taylor Swift has sold over 16 million album units in the United States. This is the fastest she has reached this milestone in any calendar year of her career.

In my opinion Beyonce needs to go back to her roots with songs that have a more crossover appeal, like her first two solo albums. She is trying to develop a new sound in music (her words not mind) but the songs don't have that R&B flavor I'm missing.
