Kendrick Lamar’s surprise album GNX debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart (dated Dec. 7), marking his fifth chart-topper, all earned consecutively. It launches with 319,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Nov. 28, according to Luminate — the year’s sixth-largest debut frame. The set’s opening week was largely driven by streaming activity, and the 12-song effort launches with 2024’s third-biggest streaming week for any album. GNX arrived with no warning on Nov. 22 around noon ET.

Drake’s last album debuted at 409,000 in the first week. Kendrick’s GNX debuted at 319,000 in the first week.
This is Kendrick’s 4th popular album while Drake’s last and successful album was his 13th.
We get it, you want an actual black man to be on top of the rap game but the elephant in the room can’t be ignored. Kendrick is nice but he isn’t Drake nice. 😁😄
I’m not impressed but I will say congratulations to Kendrick, though! No other rapper is even putting out numbers like that anyway now. Gunna sold 83,000 in the 1st week and had a song that went #2. Seems anything can hit the top list with mediocre sales.
Seems like people are buying into Kendrick’s music for the sake of wanting Drake to fall off.
No one's listening to trash music for the sake of Drake's downfall. Get real. Take a listen. It's a good album.

Kendrick has something in common with Jay, Snoop and Biggie. They all have daughters that look just like them!
