This week Country music rapper Shaboozey was shut out at the Country Music Awards after being nominated for Best New Artist and Song of the Year, despite his smash hit single "Tipsey" spending 18 weeks in the No. 1 spot.
Making matters worse, music producer Trent Willmon name checked Shaboozey in a negative way while accepting an award...
"I got to tell ya, this is for this cowboy who has been kicking Shaboozey for a lot of years, Cody Johnson."
@edosedaily Everybody at the CMA Awards gettin’ tipsy? 🤔 What did you make of this moment when Cody Johnson’s producer Trent Willmon referenced Shaboozey during their acceptance speech for Album of the Year 👀. 🎥: X / Jennifer Su #cmaawards #codyjohnson #shaboozey ♬ original sound - E Dose Daily

Thanking the CMAs is embarrassing, but then again, he’s a 1st generation American.
He thanked Beyonce for putting him on her half a$$ed country album on stage when he was ALREADY successful WITHOUT her.
They yt's took that as a diss, and said ok..bet. They had him slated to be the next 'Darius Rucker until then. He probably would have won if he wouldn't have unnecessarily done that. Why do people keep killing careers over a woman who uses them for their status and then discards them is beyond me. 🧐
Actually, the guy Didn't check him. He complimented him "kicking for a lot of years" means he has been listing/rocking with/kicking it with Shaboozy before most people who didn't know who he was. If you gonna be country then at least know the lingo.
Cultural appropriating African looks crazy ridiculous dressed in our country attire. The real Cowboy ancestors are being mocked by the very ones that sold them to the thieving white colonizers. SMH 🤦🏽♀️
Brother you don't need Yt Hill Billie Awards to say you're the best at what you do. Keep making good music. Your music sales is all that matters.
IS THAT HOW YOU HEARD IT, @2:38 PM?
@2:35 Dont use Beyonce to try to justify racist white supremacy. The CMAs learned hate through several generations
2:38 “kickin it” is Black lingo/slang/ebonics/vernacular not White boy country lingo. You giving those Caucs to much credit.
