Last week it was reported that the St. Lunatics rap collective was suing rapper Nelly for unpaid royalties [click here if you missed that].
Now 3 of the Lunatics have withdrawn from the case, leaving Lunatic Ali standing alone...
From TMZ
Nelly was recently sued by his former group St. Lunatics for $50 million, but now it appears only ONE rapper wants to continue pursuing the case -- Nelly's lawyer states the other 3 are saying they want out!!!
TMZ Hip Hop obtained a legal letter that was sent to the attorney who filed the lawsuit against Nelly, that states Murphy Lee, Kyjuan, and City Spud did not give authorization for them to be included in the lawsuit filed in mid-September.
The lawsuit is spearheaded by ex-Lunatics de facto leader Ali Jones, and it claims Jones and other St. Lunatics members have been shut out of royalties and profits from Nelly's Diamond-selling "Country Grammar" album and other various tracks.
According to the letter, Nelly's attorney N. Scott Rosenblum says the 3 St. Lunatics -- other than Jones -- recently retained him and are now demanding to be removed from the suit ... threatening legal repercussions.
Our sources say the STL rappers were blindsided by the suit and are still tight with Nelly -- and they proved it on one of the biggest stages in music!!!
Murphy Lee, Kyjuan, and City Spud joined Nelly during Sunday night's 2024 American Music Awards, where they performed a tribute to the evolution of hip hop.

Ali a trump supporter
Okay, so the three got paid off. Why want he pay Ali? Maybe he low balled him, and Ali said no way I'm taking that little bit of money.
We already know Nelly coins are short. Unless he asks wifey for another long-standing loan. LOLO
He promised them more opportunities to make money and tour that’s why they performing with him these fools want to be seen instead of paid what they owe! He prolly paid their light bill and got them some groceries.
So those 3 are still touring and getting paid under the St Lunatics name, Nely was never a "St Lunatic" they were Nelly and the St lunatics. If they sue him they would have to prove that they are not able to get any compensation for these songs or album.
Ali has been telling the story that Nelly was really just the face and he was the writer/rapper but the YTpeople liked Nelly, hence the reason he wrote country grammer but he was taken off the credits. Nelly didnt do it it was the label that did it. They were never signed, Nelly was and brought yal along. This is the same lawsuit that Goof troop Safari tried to sue Nicki for, Writing her songs. You shouldve got paperwork with him then you had fight but 20 years later naw its over
I saw Murphy Lee and a few of the other ones performing with Nelly on the 50th Anniversary of the AMAs. I knew it when I saw it that it was all good with them!
3:18 - Streaming on Paramount +!
