Safaree Blames Erica Mena for Loss of Income in Request to Lower Child Support

Last summer reality TV star Erica Mena lashed out at her ex, Safaree, for being a dead beat dad [click here if you missed that].

Now Safaree is blaming Erica's outbursts for costing him jobs and wants to lower his child support order...

Former Love & Hip Hop star Safaree Samuels pleaded with a judge to lower his child support payments to ex-wife Erica Mena, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Safaree, 43, filed a petition in Georgia court in June 2023.
Safaree explained they reached a divorce settlement in 2022 that covered all issues including custody, child support and the division of their property.
Per their deal, the exes share custody of their two minor children. Safaree agreed to pay $4,305 per month in child support.
In his new petition, Safaree said, “The Child Support amount was based upon [his] monthly income of $61,157 per month and [Erica’s] monthly income of $41,289.00 per month.”
He said since the order was entered, “there has been a significant change in circumstances regarding the custodial arrangement and earnings of the parties.”
Safaree’s lawyer argued, “Specifically, [Safaree] has greater parenting time exceeding the prescribed 12 days. [Safaree] has the minor children in his physical custody on average 3-4 weeks consistently during his time.”
In his filing, Safaree said he no longer earns $61,000 per month.
His lawyer noted, “At the time of the Divorce, the Petitioner was a main realty talent for Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta; yet he is no longer a full- time talent on Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta. Further, at the time of the Divorce, the Petitioner was also booking appearances and generating an income from such appearances. The Petitioner is no longer able to accept the same level of booking engagements to date.” In addition, Safaree claimed he experienced a “significant loss of income” due to the “direct acts” of Erica, 36.
He said she engaged in an “extensive public disparagement campaign against” him on social media.
His lawyer wrote, “[Erica] for nearly six (6) consecutive months has made public posts on her social media platform to her over six (6) million followers referring to [Safaree] as a “deadbeat” and attacking his parenting skills without reason. Additionally, [Erica] has created confusion regarding [Safaree’s] efforts to secure new employment by harassing the [Safaree’s] potential costars and or coworkers via multiple phone calls to the potential coworkers and production disparaging [Safaree] with false claims.”
He said Erica’s comments harmed his ability to book appearances since his fan base is predominantly women. Further, he said Erica’s earnings had increased since their divorce. He demanded his monthly child supports be lowered and his ex-wife cover his legal fees. There has been no movement in the case since June 2023.

Should’ve just stayed with her and raised the kids together. Smh I don’t get knocking a woman up just to go cheat and leave a broken home. I don’t feel an ounce of pity for him.

Off topic but has anyone watched Erica in the Tubi movies The Stepmother? I watched part 1,2 and 3 over the weekend. It’s something to watch if you don’t have anything else to do

I’ll never support either of them. Erica can kick rocks and Safarree (however spelled) can suck 'em.
