This week Shannon Amos, daughter of the late actor John Amos, announced that her estranged brother, K.C., never told her that their father died and she didn't find out until 45 days later, after he had been cremated [click here if you missed that].
John Amos' publicist claims he wanted his death announcement delayed to avoid his daughter turning his funeral into a circus...
From People Magazine
Shortly after the message made headlines, Belinda Foster, John's longtime publicist, who was also named in Goudy's statement, refuted those claims in an exclusive statement shared with PEOPLE.
"I represented John Amos for over 30 years as his publicist of record," Foster said. "The media knows this along with John's agencies of record. Over the years we grew close to one another to the point of a familial relationship. In the last few years, he often referred to me as his 'daughter.' This was not a fraud by John, K.C., or myself. He was like a father to me. I deeply mourn his passing."
"Shannon's claims that John was abused are false," Foster continued. "K.C., Eugene and I, along with numerous others cared for him. On several occasions when Shannon claimed that he was abused, law enforcement authorities sat with John and confirmed his well being."
In Foster's statement, she addressed the claims that K.C. failed to notify the family about his death, saying, "At the time of John's passing, K.C. was under a strict no-contact order from the Superior Court of New Jersey based on the Complaint that his sister Shannon brought against him in 2023."
"As a condition of his Pretrial Release, K.C. is precluded from making any contact with Shannon directly or indirectly by phone, social media, or any method of communication," she explained. "At the time of his death, John was concerned that Shannon might turn his death and interment into a circus as she had done with other aspects of his life."
"It was John who requested the delay in announcing his death to Shannon and the rest of the world," Foster added.
According to a death certificate obtained by PEOPLE on Oct. 2, John died of congestive heart failure on Aug. 21 at 5:18 p.m. at a hospital located in Inglewood, Calif. There were no other significant medical conditions that contributed to his death and no autopsy was performed. The certificate also confirmed that the Good Times star's remains were cremated on Aug. 30, just nine days after he died. K.C. was listed as the informant who reported his death to Los Angeles County and appears to be in possession of his father's ashes.

Not true. The funeral home could have notified her. Even if cremated, the remains went to the funeral home/crematory. And when you Give the information for the death certificate, you have to name/list the net of kin. If spouse, only that name, but if children ALL the children. He only named himself.
This is between the siblings even though they made it public, we are all just fans of John Amos with no legal standing in this matter.

That not true. As long as they contact one they will proceed forward. My mom passed and they spoke with my sibling. It’s the family’s responsibility to inform everyone else.

Very true.
Rest up, Mr. Amos! πΈπ·πΊ
This makes no sense. Since when do dead men care about their death announcement? They are liars. Why didn't the son notify John's brother of his death if he was precluded from contacting Shannon? I smell a cover-up.
A funeral home has 1 contact to the deceased. They’re not the ones to call each sibling.
Welp, we’ll never know who did what to whom. He gone now and well never know the truth. Family business
That's a darn lie, John had dementia. He wouldn't have destroyed his daughter like that. Agents and things are known to lie , especially if they are getting a cut.
KC was the drug addict living off of his elderly parents while Shannon was in corporate America and paying her own bills. Get your facts straight because John's entire family and friends are standing with Shannon, not the brother. I trust this Belinda chick as much as I trust Wendy's guardian. Lol
A funeral takes 1 week, they waited 45 days which is how long insurance can take to clear. Ummhmmm. I don't trust Belinda or KC. What has KC accomplished?
That IS HIS Right, BUT IT MAY'VE HURT HIM MORE THAN HELPED.
I GOT ?????S.......
