Last week Canadian rapper Tory Lanez filed a new writ of habeas in the ongoing appeal of his conviction for felony assault for shooting Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion, sparking a wave of false reports [click here if you missed that].
Now Megan's legal team is threatening to sue bloggers over the massive spread of misinformation...
From Complex
“His declaration of innocence is completely false,” Spiro told Complex in a phone conversation on Monday. Furthermore, per Spiro, Lanez is “spinning his wheels” while behind bars.
“He can continue spinning his wheels and spinning up these nonsense bloggers from jail all he wants but it’s not going to go anywhere,” he said.
Spiro also teased potential legal action in response to the circulation of “garbage” on social media.
“Misinformation isn’t gonna be an issue in the court of law where he was convicted and remains convicted and incarcerated,” he said. “The fact that he has nonsense bloggers continuing to spin up garbage, we’re going to take legal action.”
Elsewhere, Spiro called the latest round of misinformation “nonsense” and reiterated plans to respond with legal action.
“Misinformation can be everywhere but anybody reasonable and conscientious sees this nonsense for what it is,” Spiro said. “Given the fact that they insist on continuing, we’re going to take legal action.”
As for the appeal itself, Spiro says it’s “dead on arrival.”
