Blade Taken Off Marvel Studios Schedule

For the past six years Blade star Wesley Snipes has been publicly criticizing Marvel's decision to recast the iconic character with actor Mahershala Ali [click here if you missed that].

Now Blade has been removed from Marvel's slate...

From Digital Spy

Mahershala Ali's Blade movie will not be coming soon. Ali was announced as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Blade actor back in 2019. Since then, the star has only appeared in the franchise through a voice cameo in Eternals. The MCU's Blade movie has suffered from multiple delays and behind-the-scenes issues. The film is currently without a director, after having lost original director Bassam Tariq in 2022 and replacement Yann Demange in June. Now, the announced MCU movie is looking even further away from happening following a major update.
Marvel has delayed Blade indefinitely, taking the MCU movie off its previously scheduled November 7, 2025, slot. Predator: Badlands will now debut in Blade's previous slot. Marvel Studios has also set three dates for untitled MCU movies planned for February 18, 2028, May 5, 2028, and November 10, 2028. After having faced multiple delays, it seemed unlikely that Blade would meet its release date, and Marvel has finally confirmed what was expected, with Blade now off the MCU's schedule for 2025, which could lead to Blade losing cast members and more.

Let’s start with marvel comic books and studios are racist.

SO, because HE couldn't play the part anymore because Marvel wanted someone younger, he took the whole franchise down? đŸ˜ˆđŸ€Ą

All the white superheroes get recast ALL the time. You didn't see Lynda Carter try to take down Wonder Woman when Gal Gadot was brought in. We on our what 20 or 30th Batman and they just recast Superman again and Henery Cavill not out here crying. So now we get NO Black Superhero movie since they now made the main guy in Black Panther a Latino???đŸŠčđŸœ‍♂️ We just get NOTHING since Wesley's feelings are hurt???? So a Black man took down a Black Franchise, I would say I'm stunned..but I really am not. Sometimes We are our biggest enemies. We as a collective whole have still never recovered from slavery "mentally" YT like let them destroy themselves đŸ˜’đŸ’ŻđŸ€Ą

They are mad that Wesley’s appearance as Blade in Deadpool had everyone spazzing out in theatres. It was freaking awesome!
They did Mahershala wrong because he would have been great too but Blade is Wesley Snipes …. ALL DAY, EVERYDAY!!

It could have been done where old Blade picks his predecessor like they have done with Kung Fu Panda 4, or like Wonder Woman where Lynda is in the movie and the fans see her, but the crown gets passed. The Blade franchise will fade now, especially because Stan Lee is no longer with us to press for stand alone diversity, like he did for Blade and Black Panther, and Wesley is not getting any younger so when he is gone its done. When with this new film it could have caught new life, for new generations, and continued on. We get NOTHING now. 😒
