Michaela DePrince's Mother Died 24 Hours After She Did

Last week ballerina Michaela DePrince passed away at age 29 [click here if you missed that].

In a tragic turn of events, Michaela's adoptive mother died 24 hours later...

From E! News
A day after Boston ballerina Michaela Mabinty DePrince died at the age of 29, her adopted mother Elaine DePrince died at 77 during a routine procedure.
The DePrince family has shared more heartbreaking news.
After confirming the death of Boston Ballet principal soloist Michaela Mabinty DePrince at the age of 29, her family shared that Michaela mother's Elaine DePrince died within 24 hours of her adopted daughter.
"The last few days have been even more difficult than most people realize," they posted to Facebook Sept. 14, "because the family has also been dealing with the death of Michaela's adoptive mother Elaine DePrince."
They shared that Michaela passed on Sept. 10, while Elaine, who was 77, died on Sept. 11 "during a routine procedure in preparation for a surgery."
"Michaela died before Elaine and Elaine did not know of Michaela's passing at the time of her procedure," the family added. "As unbelievable as it may seem, the two deaths were completely unrelated. The only way we can make sense of the senseless is that Elaine, who had already lost three children many years ago, was by the grace of God spared the pain of experiencing the loss of a fourth child."

They are keeping cause of death hush hush. I suspect suicide.

Can’t nobody convince me the supernatural and natural doesn’t go hand in hand. That woman passed before finding out about the death of another child…gives me chills.

Look at the lack of condolences in the Not Like Us thread not giving two f’cks!!

May they all rest in peace! Really unfortunate!

The cause isn't everybody's business.

I don't like when they keep secret the cause of death especially for a young person. What happened to the girl?

You can't fool a mother. No one would tell my elderly grandma her daughter was dying of cancer but her spirit knew. She said, "She won't be coming home." My aunt passed. Mothers know. That woman died when her child died.

I recall watching Michaela's story unfold in a documentary called First Position. Her parents sacrificed a lot to get her where she was and she did not disappoint them. What a sad ending to a happy story. I hope her family finds some peace and comfort in this time.
