JAY-Z and Roc Nation Pledge $250M to Hell's Kitchen in Times Square Casino Bid

Jay Z and Roc Nation are lobbying to open a casino in Times Square and have pledged $250 million to a local neighborhood as an incentive...

Jay-Z is looking to sweeten the pot on his Times Square casino bid.
The rap icon and Roc Nation will commit more than $250 million in grant money for Hell’s Kitchen if they land the bid to create a Caesars Palace Times Square casino, Page Six has learned.
The hip hop mogul’s Roc Nation-led group would give an initial $15 million to the local community — plus regular grants based on .5% of the casino’s performance.
The Caesars Palace Times Square team has already met with residents of Manhattan Plaza — the famed affordable housing development for artists — to clue them in on the potential benefits, we hear.
Jay-Z said in a statement announcing the grant initiative: “We are New Yorkers. Supporting and providing opportunities for our neighborhoods and community isn’t just a part of Roc Nation’s ethos… it’s our collective responsibility.”
The “Empire State of Mind” artist added, “Any proposal that wins a gaming license will undoubtedly profit. Our vision is to give back to New York and ensure that the Broadway community, Hell’s Kitchen, and the surrounding businesses and areas all benefit. And not just for a minute, but for the long-term.”
Roc Nation is looking to move further into the gambling world — after New York City was greenlighted for a gaming license — and has teamed with Caesars Entertainment and SL Green.
Other players vying to land the biz at different locations around town include Saks Fifth Avenue, Mohegan Sun, Wynn Resorts and Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, Resorts World Casino and more.
They’ve all put their chips on the table to try and win the coveted licenses.

The last thing Manhattan needs.

Why do he and his wife insist on poisoning the community with gambling and liquor. Why not invest in technology or improving wellness? Most of their money grabs are so detrimental to society.

That is not what HK or Manhattan midtown needs. There is too much traffic and scammers in the area.

So I see Hov is figuring it out he let the Russians tentacles get to him when he was green as grass (and stop it Hov you know just like I know looking back it was just that) and he became the bad guy or the lightening rod for the whole boondoggle that came from the locals in the area about the Barclays project, now he is going after a bigger fish with more skin in the game he paid his dues and got got a lil bit and now he is taking out the risk of the same coming back to bite him in the butt if all goes well he will learn a few things from this one he previously didn't know and the next move will be even tighter. But be careful Hov the winds of change are blowing the kid who claimed to be from Harlem danced his way into a fortune and now he is in a tight spot and he thought he liked being in tight spots so much so that he landed in this one and this one ain't all that nice, case of his enemigos reminding him that a man is only as powerful as his friends.
