Halle Berry claims that she’s spent nearly a quarter of a million dollars trying to co-parent her son with ex-husband Olivier Martinez amid their bitter custody battle.
The “Catwoman” actress claimed in court documents filed Wednesday and obtained by Us Weekly that she has spent over $200,000 in legal fees to fight for custody over their 10-year-old son, Maceo — including $80,000 that went to “voluntarily” paying for Martinez’s own legal expenses.
“I have done everything possible to work with Olivier, to communicate with him, and to engage him in the decision-making process regarding our son in an amicable way,” she wrote in the court documents.
Berry, 58, argued that her ex has “refused to co-parent and communicate with me in a child-centered way” and that he has instead “been oppositional and unmovable on all major issues relating to Maceo.”
The “Monster’s Ball” actress –– who filed for sole custody last month –– initially agreed to share custody last year, but she has to pay the “Unfaithful” actor $8,000 per month in child support and continues to pay for his education.
“As Olivier has advised this court, he lives off my child support and in order to be able to pay child support, I have to go to work. I do not have the luxury of taking months off,” she continued.

This is soooo tragic because it's like slavery. She works to take care of two lazy white guys who are able bodied and stronger than her. Smh.
She ain't lying. Her latest movie is on Netflix. Seems like she's doing whatever role she can take. That man is purposely making this co-parenting hell for her but she chose him.
His temper and reputation was well known before she made a baby with him.
Halle has proven herself to be very toxic. It's like she has to get the last word in, even if she's "cutting off her own nose to spite her face".

Instead of parting ways she blows her cash to prove she is “right” and will go out of her way to try and destroy a man when they are done with her.
She was vile to David Justice.
She agreed to shared custody and support payments so how is she any different than a man in the same situation?
And now she changed her mind and wants her way!
She should have married equal wealth or above but she keeps marrying and dating down.
Notice she is always a victim.
Even in the hit and run she was liable for.

Halle has appeared mostly unproblematic but she gets blasted publicly often. Worst then most when they behave worse. Why is she so unliked? She’s beautiful talented rich and stays out of the tabloids for the most part and more importantly many ingenues go through dudes. What makes her get down more abhorrent than others to where her name is always mud in the papers? She cannot be worse than JLo or Sandra or Charlize in any capacity. She is important in our community and has put in work. I don’t get the hate.
Halle is getting what she gave.
If it was Halle, the man, there would be more understanding and sympathy. A good number of these comments or for want of a better word, “contributions”, obviously come from another realm. Spatial words are filled with the destructive feminine spirits of jealousy, envy, spite, malice, etc. Apparently they surmise that she must be the problem! It’s safe to say critical thinking can not be found among these souls. Ms. Halle Berry is 100% correct in her assessment and deserves relief from the courts. She is a beautiful Mother and diligent professional Artist who continues to make great impact on world creative arts, culture and the edification of life itself. God be with her, God bless her.
