The Piano Lesson on Netflix

It's a family affair on Netflix.

Denzel Washington produces the film adaptation of August Wilson's play, "The Piano Lesson," starring his son John David Washington and directed by his youngest son, Malcom Washington...

From Netflix
Malcolm Washington is bringing The Piano Lesson from the stage to the screen. The new film marks Washington’s directorial debut and carries over much of the cast from the play’s recent Broadway revival — including Samuel L. Jackson and John David Washington. The Piano Lesson is the latest August Wilson adaptation produced by Denzel Washington, who directed and starred in Fences (for which he received an Oscar nomination) and produced Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Read on for more information, and mark your calendar for The Piano Lesson when it hits Netflix this fall.
The Piano Lesson will stream on Netflix on Nov. 22. Although Denzel Washington produced the film, he left the production in the capable hands of Malcolm Washington, who directed the film. “After about two weeks [on set], I went home,” Denzel Washington said at ABFF. “I was like, ‘There’s really nothing for me to do here, I’m just in the way.’ I’m not saying this because he’s my son, but he’s very talented.”
Of course, Washington humbly gives all credit for both Malcolm and John David Washington’s talent to their mom, Pauletta Washington: “They all got it from their mother’s side. As long as I’ve known her, she’s been a movie buff. She got those kids to watch movies.”

Like all August Wilson it's a tough story to watch.

David Washington is a terrible actor. He has a punchable face.

Punchable face? That nicca can act. I saw him in the HBO show Ballers and he was good in that Spike Lee film too. I'm here for John David and.I don't like Nepo chirren but at least he can act.

I liked him in the one about the KKK.

John David is overrated and comes off like he's trying too hard. He was okay in Ballers but even Dwayne out-acted him.

10:08 DW is the great value Denzel. He even steals his voice. He tries too hard. Hopefully he gets behind the camera.

I like to see Black father's helping his family. That's the best way to support your own since HW still don't support roles for us. It would be nice if we find some other stories to tell that have not received the exposure from these legendary historic story tellers/writers. How many times has PL been remade?

Wow, that looks good. He sounds just like his dad and he can act too. Of course, Samuel Jackson is in here too

@1:41 PM says John David even steals Denzel's voice. That's the funniest, most non-ironic thing I heard today, lol.
