This week Serena Williams called out the Peninsula luxury hotel in Paris after they refused to seat her in their 'empty' restaurant [click here if you missed that].
Now the Peninsula is claiming the host on duty at the time did not recognize the tennis icon...

A staffer at the Peninsula’s rooftop restaurant, Maxime Mannevy, told Variety that Williams showed up to the premises with another woman and a stroller and looked “unrecognizable.”
“When she came there were only two tables available and they had been reserved by clients of the hotel,” said Mannevy, who shares that she was not working when Williams visited the restaurant. “My colleague didn’t recognize her and feels terrible, but he told her what he would have told any other client, which is to wait downstairs in the bar for a table to become available. That was absolutely nothing personal.”
Representatives for Williams were not immediately available for comment.

This wasn't racism. This was we are booked its Olympics. We are choosing money over fame, the rent is due. Make a reservation you know this city is booked.
Either your booked or not, what difference did it make if she was recognized?
If she was recognized they would have made space somehow for a table. That's just how it works when you're dealing with someone on Serena's level. Your job is to find a way to accommodate her, by any means necessary.
