Lawsuit Against LA Reid Can Move forward

Last year former Arista Records employee Drew Dixon filed a s exual harassment lawsuit against former Arista Records head LA Reid [click here if you missed that].

Reid's request to dismiss the case has been denied...
L.A. Reid failed to convince a New York judge to dismiss a sixual assault case. Judge Valerie Caproni allowed music producer Drew Dixon’s lawsuit against the longtime executive to proceed in a ruling on Tuesday (August 13).
Dixon accused Reid of sixually assaulting her twice during her time at Arista Records around 20 years ago. Her lawsuit included claims of sixual battery and assault, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress and a violation of the New York City Gender Motivated Violence Act.
Reid filed motions to dismiss some of the claims, citing the statute of limitations and venue issues. Judge Caproni denied these motions. She ruled the claims of false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress were not time-barred under the New York Adult Survivors Act, which allowed survivors of sixual assault to sue despite expired statutes of limitations. The judge also found the events in the complaint had a substantial connection to the Southern District of New York where the lawsuit was filed.

Good! I hope he's rolling over in his grave. She went through hell.

12:48 - When did LA Reid pass?

LA Reid is alive and well. It's Andre Harrell who passed.

The 80tys and 90tys were notorious for these men/women to take advantage of new and up coming musicians. That had been a Yt privilege before Black's got some power.
Get your due coins gurl.

Laws, punishment, and statutes of limitation will continue to evolve as more cases are presented.

An industry with low standards and little structure is finally and slowly paying the price for it. Who's next?

Why was RGIII fired from ESPN?

12:48 You thinking about Andre Harell, because I was too.

Since Clarence Avant passed all of these music industry black men's past are coming to haunt them.

@3:57PM Yep... not something Diddy and JayZ were banking on I'm sure, since they wanted him gone so bad.

The way that man & his wife were unalived was a disgrace. Well, the family didn't disclose Clarence Avant's cause, but his wife certainly didn't deserve to go from anything other than natural causes.

They aren't going after any Whyte CEOs in the Music industry or label owners. Just the Black Men, Mary J Blige isn't even being cancelled for her bloody past.

They only went after Whyte Men in the acting world.

We need some Whyte arrest to happen.

It's not about race for me.

Drew Dixon is the daughter of former Mayor Sharon Pratt Dixon of DC. Her father was a former DC Councilman and attorney. I am pretty sure that she is not going to let this go and good for her to pursue this to the end.

Ain't No 'We' 🙌🏿

It’s always “we” just not with “you”. Not all skinfolks is kinfolks. You not like “us” brethren

No ‘we’ means no unity. Being not loyal is why ‘we’ aren’t on one accord and strengthening our relationships and communities.
