Two weeks ago actor Will Smith solidified his return from exile with the No. 1 movie at the box office, "Bad Boys: Ride or Die [click here if you missed that]."
Now Will Smith the rapper is set to take the stage at the BET Awards to perform new music...

In his first major solo performance since the slap heard round the world, Will Smith will perform a new, original song at the BET Awards, which will air live on the network Sunday, June 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
No further details about Smith’s performance were announced, although sources say he is working on a new album.
Taraji P. Henson will return to host the awards, and Grammy-winning singer Usher will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement BET Award at the event. Other performers include Ice Spice, Sexyy Red, Latto, Lauryn Hill & YG Marley, Tyla, GloRilla, Muni Long, Shaboozey and Victoria Monét, with Tanner Adell performing on the BET Amplified stage. Cardi B, Davido, Gunna, the Roots, Common, Queen Latifah and the Jungle Brothers are also set to appear. Drake leads BET Awards nominees with seven nods.

I love the BET Awards. By far, they have the best live music spots. I'm here for this.

I'm not going to go back and forth over these two (Will & Chris) again.
What I will say is "I'm not sure if Will can deliver a song that sounds updated for today's ears. That's what this post is about.
This year BET is having Taraji P. Henson host and Usher to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Also with appearances from Will Smith, Queen Latifah, Cardi B, Latto, Muni Long, Lauryn Hill, Common, The Roots, The Jungle Brothers and Victoria Monet . . . Wow, that sounds like a great line-up for an incredible show.
I'm crying at the outraged Anonymous trying to insinuate that Will Smith abandoned his community and is crawling back.
1. OJ married a foreigner, Will stayed in the community
2. Will has always repped his community, I can't recalled any movie that he played a slave, house ninja, or some form of embarrassing.
3. Through Will Smith we got Parents don't understand, Uncle Phil, Geoffrey, Men in Black, Bad Boy for Life..etc, etc.
He made a mistake, it was probably fake, but Will has never left his community and isn't crawling back.
And the whole "whitey rejects", that show is an example how the "others" will try to emotionally persuade an image of someone.
Will Smith slap or no slap was AT the Oscar's for portraying King Richard, the BLACK father who RAISED two of the most decorated tennis players in the WORLD.
He wasn't there to be celebrated by the whitey. -_- He was there representing a black man's true story.

Love your comment @ 5:27. I agree wholeheartedly. Chris ain't funny and has never been. He thinks joking about a black woman (ie Will's wife) hair loss was "comedy" in front of everyone. I stand behind Will slapping the shhh out of him. Not to mention he has now made 40 million (Netflix show) talking about it. I support Will 1000% and the Bad Boys 4 movie is really good. I hope he doesn't start back rapping though. He should stick with acting...that's his strength.
Wish they just stayed with us...but nice to see him come back.
