Former daytime talk show host Wendy Williams' best friend, Regina Schell, has been railing against Wendy's court ordered guardianship in a series of interviews over Wendy's virtual disappearance [click here if you missed that].
In a new interview Regina claims Wendy didn't feel safe with her manager Will Selby...
From The Sun
WENDY Williams thought her manager, Will Selby, was "putting her in peril" and her best friend said she sounded "worried" in their final phone call.
Wendy's closest friend of over four decades exclusively revealed to The U.S. Sun that the star no longer felt safe in New York and specifically took issue with her manager leading up to her disappearance from the public eye in May 2023.
Wendy's pal, Regina Schell, said "Wendy told me she didn't feel safe in New York anymore, and that was why she had started looking for a place out in LA."
"She told me she felt her manager was not protecting her and she felt she was in peril," the friend explained.
Wendy ended up in Los Angeles after calling her publicist Shawn Zanotti, in what would later play out on Lifetime's Where is Wendy Williams? documentary.
"She called Shawn and Shawn flew out to New York and got Wendy and flew with her back to LA in 24 hours because she believed Wendy was fearing for her life in New York," Regina explained.
On May 1, 2023, Regina would unknowingly have what would be her last conversation with her friend, and that brief chat still haunts her.
"She told me she was going to lunch with her manager and that she would call me when she got home."
"But she never got home, and she hasn't called me since."
The star's childhood friend said Wendy seemed worried.
"She sounded concerned in that last phone call, I could feel the vibe and it was something dark."
The former daytime TV host's pained friend then added: "I haven't spoken to my friend, who I spoke to five times a day, in over a year now."
The U.S. Sun reached out to Wendy's former manager for comment.
