Ashanti & Nelly Secretly Married for Months

This week singer / songwriter Ashanti shared her sweet proposal story with Entertainment Tonight and dished on her upcoming wedding to rapper Nelly [click here if you missed that].

Turns out the sneaky couple are already married...

From TMZ
According to public records, the two music stars are legally man and wife -- and their marriage date is listed as having been recorded on December 27, 2023 ... so, a whole 6 months ago.
The paperwork doesn't specify what city they tied the knot in -- but it became official in St. Louis County, so all signs point to them doing the deed in Nelly's hometown.

Love this! I was hoping they'd have the baby in wedlock

Aha!! The jokes are on all of the haters who couldn't wait to clown Ashanti and saying she was a babymama. This is a perfect example why people should mind their business and just congratulate someone, then move on.

People were so critical. 😂
They were performing and she announced him as her baby daddy. Now seeing that they are married I like she didn’t say ‘My huuuuusband like so many thirsty women. That title doesn’t matter when he’s a cheater. You just look stupid! A door mat that can’t get respect.

Proving how possible it is to keep people out your business til you are comfortable. Like these two but dont start with the weekly updates let us know when the baby come, what it was and the name. Pic if they like but other than that I wish them the best. Nice couple.

3 :25 and 3:47 Saying "My husband or My wife" is an honor and a privilege because marriage is holy in God's sight and the bed undefiled. God created the word huuuusband. I guess you two have yet to be bestowed that honor and privilege but it is good to love your spouse out loud. Also, of course we want to see Black kids born within the confines of holy matrimony like we all were before gangster rap and other mess. Yes we want her to win! This is great news and isn't about "haters."

You can tell who the forever single folks are by their comments. Since when is it a bad thing to announce your spouse?

Love never fails

You can tell people can’t read a room.
Apparently, they both didn’t want to share they are married to the public for good reason. No one said anything about not honoring a marriage!! So stupid!
They kept it private probably because of you people who act like marriage is everyone’s business but the couple!
After she performed Ashanti introduced him as her baby daddy while keeping the marriage private. Who you mad at? Not me!
Talking about being a hater, psst!! . I love that they are married. I also love they don’t have to prove shyt to anyone when it’s about them, not you!

Shut up with that marriage is holy talk. 95% of married people don’t respect it. How holy are those who constantly cheat. Apparently not so much!

You can tell who the forever cheated on is by their ignorant comment about single people.

Now he can learn what marriage really looks like. All he has to do is watch how happy Nelly is!

Please! You're putting way too much on it. I've been married twice and it's not all it's cracked up to be. Marriage is overrated and a whole lot of work. Being in a committed, respectful and loving relationship is where it's at, no matter if you have a ring or not. Couples need to learn how to love one another instead of responding to the failures and judgements of others. The first thing I learned when I got married was to keep people out of our business. Look at all of the oddballs leaving negative comments who more than likely never even received a proposal or said "I Do". A bunch of frauds. It's smart of Ashanti to keep her personal business private until she was ready to share because it prevents online weirdos from talking about things they know nothing about. Take notes!

You're absolutely right! Just this week, two prominent pastors who would stand in the pulpit and speak about jezebels and harlots, both had to step down because they couldn't keep it in their pants. One of them had to admit to being with an underage girl. No shame whatsoever. I love the Lord but most Christians are trash because they're these massive hypocrites who know nothing about the Love of God.

The thots will me coming for him just because he's married.

^^^He's Nelly. The thots never stopped.

Married men get the most 😼 cuz they get it from the wife and the side chicks. These married men just don't care about those vows.

Boyfriends gets the most kitty kat cuz they get it from the girlfriend and the side chicks. These boyfriends just don't care about commitment. I'd rather stay with a man who's committed to our kids than spending a lifetime hopping from dck to dck to men who are not. To each his own.

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Haynes

You keep your marriage a secret when you know people are not happy for you. Or, you know that pregnancy may not have made it this far. I don't encourage childless women to have children with men who have children. I also don't encourage black women to go back to men they left in the past.

Congratulations, I guess. I hope the baby has her looks and her talents.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM! The grandma and grandpa comment is disrespectful. Young people love to try to flex about age. It's her first baby. Thank Goodness she 's not another broke and desperate character. Back to the comment. You try to laugh and them but keep saying good morning everyday and pray to get to their age!!

Poor Ms Jackson
I know she is hurt :(
Congrats to Nelly and Ashanti
