Motown and UMG Dropped From Diddy Lawsuit

Last month attorney Tyrone Blackburn, who is representing former Bad Boy Entertainment music producer Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones in his lawsuit against Bad Boy CEO, Sean "Diddy" Combs, was referred to the Southern District of New York’s Grievance Committee for his “disturbing” pattern of intentionally filing sal@cious lawsuits in Federal Court [click here if you missed that].

This month attorney Blackburn amended the suit dropping Motown Records, Universal Music Group and UMG CEO Sir Lucian Grange...

From XXL
According to court documents obtained by XXL on Wednesday (May 15), Rodney Jones, a.k.a. Lil Rod, has removed Motown Records, Universal Music Group and its CEO Sir Lucian Grainge from his 6ual assault lawsuit against Diddy.
On Monday (May 13), a judge granted the dismissal of all allegations made against Motown, UMG and Grainge with prejudice and they cannot be refiled. In Jones' initial lawsuit, the producer alleged that UMG and Sir Lucian Grainge had "aided and abetted" Diddy in his alleged 6ual abuse. But Jones' attorney said that's not the case.
"Based on my examination of all of the papers submitted in support of both motions to dismiss, which addressed the issues I had, I have concluded that there is no legal basis for the claims and allegations that were made against the UMG Defendants," stated Jones' attorney Tyrone Blackburn. "As such, I have determined that the proper course of action is for all of the claims and all of the allegations to be withdrawn immediately and the Second Amended Complaint as against the UMG Defendants be dismissed with prejudice."

Fun Fact: Sir Lucian Grainge became Sofia Richie's father-in-law after she married his son, British music exec Elliot Grainge, last year [click here if you missed that].

Lawyers are about getting PAID. There were probably some back room deals made with UMG’s legal counsel to make it go away. “Scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours”. 💰

Universal said we not protecting him anymore, remove us and you got a straight line to a win, because he won't be using their dollars to defend him. It's really OVER OVER for Diddy. That bill to the Devil about to come due with interest.💯🎯

Byt the looks of things, I would say Motown & UGM slipped Lil Rod's attorney a check to make this all go away for them.
