Says who, what's the difference between a hat, a skullcap, a durag, a turban or a bonnet?
Bonnets are made to protect black women hair because now if she lay her head on a pillow which a bonnet she wore outside, what's the difference between doing that in a lace front...? Nobody washes their hair every night. It's only regarding as ratchet because black women do it. But if everyone wore bonnets someone would EVENTUALLY have a day wear they DGAF and wore it outside and eventually it would be like people wearing scarves. Anything to bring black women down, especially when you know most times they wear a bonnet cause their hair not done, they same hair society says is nappy or ugly in its natural state. You just a sheep
Bonnets were actually created for the yt women to protect their weak tresses in them horribly hairstyles they had back in the 17th century. African women used more cloth head wrappings closer to the wrap or DuRag. Bonnets are more puffy and not as tight on the head, and were not originally created for us or by us but we use them more than yt women because they not wearing them big bouffants since they figured out the hot curlers and flat iron. We just took the bonnet over. I totally get bonnets at night for protection but daytime bonnets just scream low class to me, that’s just my personal opinion, but people have the freedom to do whatever they want, but they aren’t repping the culture because that was not by or for us✅🎯
@8:54 pm, I understand where you're coming from and I don't condone the style of wearing a bonnet outside of the home, but it's the mentality where we disrespect our own for the sake of others. Is it low class? Definitely in the eyes of those who have the money to straighten their hair, whiten their teeth, live middle class, upper class amongst the YT. It's understandable in the eyes of Capitalism, but the bonnet no matter its origin is a black thang now. It's in our beauty supply stores it belongs to black women. I would say wearing it out is something similar to saggy pants... ain't cute. But it's the power in the destruction of one's own kind. It's cool to wear virgin hair because it cost us black women billions of dollars to fit in and when women don't they aren't of the status, even more of the worth. It's so cute to belittle black women on poverty because it's "low class" like everyone has the choice because the few made it out.
All in all it's the message, most time bonnets are worn to thr hair store, in the airport, to Walmart like really? People aren't wearing bonnets to social events. It's like everyone wearing legging with the prints out but since all races do it it's cool. You have valid points, because you are high society, it's okay to judge. I mean just wear a bucket hat and save everyone the trouble of knowing how much you get paid lol
And to get back the point, the message was coming from a woman who was vehemently against shaving her legs to celebrity events and paying to keep a man. It's all hypocrisy in reality.
But don't worry in the future if there are black on african american history, they'll be sure to include all the details on how black women got it all wrong and dogged each other out when it came to aligning in a world of differences. Definitely.

Team DL . Monique is a bully and a crazy angry person who will stoop low and beyond low to make a point . Cannot respect people like that.
Remember in the end of that movie of all the crap, she was always the victim.
Now go wear your bonnets ladies. It's black history month, a bonnet is our culture and only ours, that's why they hate seeing us in.
