Last weekend Hip Hop icon Yasiin Bey, formally known as Mos Def, called out rapper Drake for appealing to consumers and said he was not Hip Hop because of it [click here if you missed that].
This week Yasiin raised eyebrows by performing for the epitome of consumerism, Paris Fashion Week...

Hypocrite
Mos Def does not make mall music no matter where he performs it
Why would anyone ask him to perform? He's not relevant to music anymore.
This headline doesn't even make sense. I'm struggling to find the controversy in this. Just because someone performs at an event doesn't make them a hypocrite. It's not like Mathematics is a pop song.
9:00 Go read the previous post and you will see why he's being a hypocrite.
He can wear whatever he wants.
No post on Usher's Vogue cover?
10:28 You'll get that 3 days from now.
Surprise! Celebs are funded by capitalists.
He's a tool of the entertainment world. Just like Drake and the rest of y'all's faves.
Why is everyone so self righteous nowadays?!
Leave him alone. Love me some Mos Def!
High-en fashion is capitalism.
^high-end^
Was it a free performance or did he get paid?
He can perform at any venue he gets paid. He actually has real solid talent.
10:29, not only will it be 3 days from now like 10:50 said, it'll be copied and pasted directly from other site.
