How he couldn't see that his partner was a scammer is beyond me. He looks exactly like a scammer.
I'm glad he was denied because he's just as guilty as his business partner. Envy thought he could shield himself from culpability with money and influence, but luckily the courts thought differently. People will now see exactly how he was involved and he won't be lying his way out of it.
