That’s odd and not surprising. Back then I can see white women throwing themselves at black men with money regardless of them being assholes. No different from today. I remember Pam Grier talking about her short relationship with Richard Pryor. He was a mess. His drug abuse destroyed any chance of a real relationship. She said the entire time it was tumultuous.
