Oscar De La Hoya Documentary Touches on Cross Dressing Scandal

In 2007 a stripper from Scores in New York leaked pictures of boxer Oscar De La Hoya dressed in a fishnet bodysuit and wearing a wig, claiming Oscar liked to get high and pretend to be a woman named Goldie [click here if you missed that].

In his new documentary Oscar will face down his demons...

In the trailer for "The Golden Boy" De La Hoya talks about the pressure that caused him to snap.

The Golden Boy two-part documentary starts steaming July 24 on HBO.

I always felt sorry for him… I also remember when he was with Shanna and then she married Travis after having his daughter…. Interesting story…

I'm interested because he's finally able to tell the truth and be real about who and what he is as a person. More men need to learn how to do this because some of y'all are a walking bag of lies and deceit.

I have not a single f*ck to give in his direction.

And to add to my comment above, some of you parents need to quit pressuring your kidsto be the best or greatest this or that when they're really young. How you gonna make a kid responsible for taking you out of the hood? I felt that. What a lousy move from his father. No child asks to be here so let a kid be a kid and you be the adult. Too many a y'all with Man-Child and Woman-Child syndrome out here creating trauma babies.

Lets first address the comment about being as big as Muhammad Ali....Never. No one is or was as big as Ali. Once again culture vultures hanging on to Black ppls legacy.
I'll wait for Snitch posters to come back with the fierce comments, I know you'll give.

Imma watch Ali instead

10:40, He was not even compared to ALI like that. You can agree or disagree to who has accomplished what or who was “the most popular” SINCE ALI, but this trailer did not level him to ALI. If anything, my opinion would be that Mike Tyson was most popular SINCE ALI, but maybe someone else would say Mayweather or this subject here. Culture vulture label not even relevant here.

I agree with 12:16
I'm like how the hell is culture vulture even being used here?
People saying he or Tyson or Mayweather being as popular as Ali is all subjective its just an opinion.
The Doc looks interesting, I'm gonna watch.

@10:07 AM

That is exactly what I was thinking. Parents who live vicariously through their children are a menace. Some produce great athletes, but at what cost? Tiger Woods was hitting golf balls at 3 or 4yo and begged his dad to play other sports. He excelled, then he cracked under the pressure. Sadly, so did Oscar De La Hoya.

When I see Floyd Mayweather train his grandson, I hope it all turns out for the best. But, I am sadly prepared for the worst. The Williams sisters turned out well, but how many other athletes crashed and burned because of the pressure their parents put them under?

His love for men is what is big. His career, not so much.
