Why weren't John's son & daughter looking out for him in the 1st place? Their father could not have fallen prey to dishonest people if they were more Pro-Active in his life. I am not saying that they had to physically care for him but, they should have been positioned to monitor his activity better. Illegal Bank Problems are insured & can be replaced if Fraud is proven. people get scammed everyday. The elderly are a soft target and is it has nothing to do with their families not being attentive. Elderly people are ADULTS.
They make their own decisions and there is little that their families can do unless and until they are deemed incapacitated and incapable of caring for themselves. Legally taking away an elderly person's rights to care for themselves and make their own decisions isn't as easy as many would like to believe.
