Had a homegirl with an autistic son. She said that it wasn't uncommon to see support groups for parents of autistic children, full of women saying how the father left almost immediately after the diagnosis. And he went on to have more children, as if he felt the need to show the world he's capable of having "normal" kids. Trifling.

Very sad. Black men are well known to abandon their special needs children and the statistics are high. For those black men who do stick around and help nurture their children with challenges, I salute them but many of their peers do not.

Stop checking just the coins and look at the blood lines. Look at the mamma, daddy, brother, sister, auntie, granny and so on for missing links in the DNA.
Who cares if his son is autistic, that doesn't make his son more deserving of his love. These men are abandoning all of their children. It needs to stop! Even able bodied children deserve love
