Isaiah Washington’s ‘Corsicana’ Added to Cannes Market Slate

Back in March actor Isaiah Washington announced he was retiring from the film industry after producing, directing and starring in his own fictional account of Federal Marshall Bass Reeves called 'Corsicana [click here if you missed that].'

Now 'Corsicana' has been added to the slate at the Cannes International Film Festival...

101 Films International has picked up worldwide sales rights on Western thriller Corsicana, written, directed by and starring Isaiah Washington.
The completed film stars Washington as deputy US marshal Bass Reeves, a real-life Black cowboy tracking a gang of killers to an oil-rich Texas town.
Robert Johnson co-wrote the film with Washington, with Noel Gugliemi and Lew Temple also on the cast of the US title.
Producers are Washington, Johnson, Ryan DeLaney and Amber McNutt; UK-based 101 is launching sales at the Cannes market.

Looks good. Hope he can sell it to make some money so he can quit whining about letting white dudes flicking him in the dick when he should have just stomped them.

I could see this on Netflix. I don't understand the premise of the plot. Isaiah's character is based off of someone real, so, is the story fictionalized? Either way, meh. I see Isaiah is keeping his conservative blacks employed; hence Stacy Dash
