“Back in 2021, I was super embarrassed to be going back to the trains. I didn’t want people to know that I legit needed the money. I didn’t want people to know that it wasn’t optional. I was disappointed in myself for allowing myself to fall so low after winning Idol, but then I had to take it easy on me and remember that I started my journey with Idol at 20 years old.”

Find something else to do.
@8:29 🤣🤣Like what? I guess your talking about a nine to five job or something. It's amazing how some of them make it and this one didn't. I wonder what happened?

Worked for Elvin on Cosby. *shrugs*
Never heard of her.
Well she definitely has a story to tell...Expose that American Idol bullsh*t
It's hard for black / Hispanic AI winners cause those groups don't buy music, and yt ppl are well - racist - and only support country music/pop artists. This reminds me of Candice Glover who had a phenomenal voice and won AI- but not many ppl supported her singles. I also think that these record companies don't know how to market black artists; they usually give black artists outdated songs with weak productions, hoping that the strength of their voices are enough to sell records (they're not) - these contestants need stronger producers and writers to secure a hot. But, even still, ole girl (it is a female, right?) should still be able to connect with industry folks to secure some money or jobs etc
I remember her. She stayed with her grandmother in the projects. This goes to show you how the Yt ones make it and some of the black don't. That girl can sang. Fake shows.
American Idol stopped being about the talented up and coming artist along time ago. It's all about the judges at this point. Honestly I think people should not waste their time with it.
Who?
I'd like to know the whole story behind this, and I don't completely blame her. I mean when she won, the pandemic killed all types of opportunities she may have had for artist development, performances, and otherwise making hte most of the AI win. Then record companies don't even wait til the ink is dry to exploit their artists and charge THEM for the costs associated with a record deal. They probably gave her an advance, didn't work with her, and then she ended up owing THEM money. I'm sure there's so much behind this, but I hope that she's able to get some opportunities now that the world knows she's struggling
9:52, that's why I never got into Fantasia. She's good and all, but it seems like her music is mostly hood anthems. That song Baby Mama was so embarrassing. I've always felt like she had the pipes to do an album the caliber of MJB's "My Life", but her songs are wack AF. I still have faith that she can pull it together, but what a waste.
Get a 9 to 5
She really won during a difficult time. People spent their money on other things during the pandemic, and they didn't do an idol tour like they normally would because people were in the house. She isn't necessarily that appealing to people either because regardless of how open people claim to be, they really are not. So looks and style matter. I hate this for her. Hopefully something comes around for her.
A pandemic idol winner.
Get out of the subway and get an agent would be my advice
All subway money ain’t good money
Clearly she did not take the oath.
@1:06 pm, Thats what I thought
Good for her. Its not worth it at the end
Beautiful voice. She should have a sign.. American idol winner & go sing in Times Square.
11:19 am I don't know what Fantasia you're listening to but she is fabulous performer and singer and her win was spot on.
I love her voice and wish her well.
I feel so sorry for her ... C'mon Simon are you blind can't you see this talented girl
