Barrett co-wrote many of Motown's hits, though he was not credited for 'Money', he and Norman Whitfield co-wrote, "I Heard Through the Grapevine", "War", "Smiling Faces Sometimes", "Cloud Nine", "I Can't Get Next to You", "Ball of Confusion", "Papa was a Rolling Stone", "Just My Imagination [Running Away with Me]", and may others.
Barrett Stong was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2004.

Wow!!! I did not know he was still alive! I loved all the songs he wrote for Motown. I still go crazy to Money on Sunday mornings , while cleaning. Rest in power 🙏🏾
Listn up EVERYONE needs to watch the Documentary "Standing in the Shadows of MOTOWN" This man was one of the greats.So many incredible singers songwriters, & the very Musicians it was magical..

I keep my music programmed to the soul satellite station. Just heard a few of those songs yesterday. RIP. His songs will live on forever.

Another Prince of Motown bites the dust. He wrote some jams. One of my favs was the LP version of Runaway Child, Runnin' Wild.
