Tyler Perry’s upcoming Netflix film “Six Triple Eight” has lined up an all-star cast, led by Kerry Washington and Oprah Winfrey.
Washington will also executive produce the film, which tells the inspiring true story of the only all-Black, all-female World War II battalion.
Starring alongside Washington and Winfrey is an impressive ensemble cast, including Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, Jay Reeves, Jeanté Godlock, Moriah Brown, Baadja-Lyne Odums and Gregg Sulkin, along with Dean Norris, Sam Waterston and Susan Sarandon.
In addition to directing and producing the film, Perry also wrote the screenplay, based on an article by Kevin M. Hymel published in WWII History Magazine by Sovereign Media about the 6888th Postal Directory Battalion, made up of 855 Black women.

I understand Madea may have left a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouth, but TP is moving mountains and doing thing in HW to assist and help black people. He is telling our stories. He has an amazing sought after studio employing many black people. He came from the chitlin circuit all the way up to being a power player in Hollywood. He has earned my respect.
@9:15am. You're right. Perry's Medea did a disservice to Black matriarchs. From bastardizing the term Ma'Dea (short for Mother Dear) to parading as a woman when dressed as a man. Yes, he became a power player by disrespecting our grandmothers and aunties.
I will never forgive him for that. Fuk TP and anything he puts out.
I respect and applaud for him but I’m just not a fan of his work.
Not going to watch.... anything with Oprah the witch, Washington with her pouting and Perry is a big NO. Jazzman's Blues ending was too poor....poor finishing and Oprah is a backstabber for what she did to Michael.
I can't wait to watch this.
@9:15 Maybe he’s telling your stories but those simplistic, melodramatic, poorly constructed, slapdash scripts that come out of his computer have nothing to do with the lives lived by anyone I know. TP is in a position to create great art but his ego was so outlandish it told him to fire every writer on staff and to take over every bit of the writing himself. Even Shakespeare would be turning out crap under those circumstances.

Tyler needs to learn to relate to Black men because he is one. When do Black men get a chance? It's like they don't even exist in Black film today. This is a Jezebel anti man era.
