Earlier this month actor Jussie Smollett was sentenced to 150 days in the Cook County jail after he was convicted on felony disorderly conduct charges for staging a hate crime hoax with the help of brothers Able and Ola Osundario [click here if you missed that].
Now the Osundario brothers are suing Jussie's legal team for defamation...
Lawyers for Jussie Smollett are filing a lawsuit in response to a defamation lawsuit filed by the Osundairo brothers.
The men were accused of attacking Smollett in 2019, and filed a lawsuit claiming one of Smollett's lawyers slandered and defamed them in a public interview.
Now, the lawyers are hitting back, saying the claims are baseless and amount to malicious prosecution.
This comes after a judge ruled Friday that the brothers' defamation lawsuit could go forward, citing that the attorney might have defamed two Black brothers who testified that they participated in a fake racist and homophobic attack on the actor when she suggested they had been wearing "whiteface."
